'CONCORD has been found to be a non-workable solution to policing the EVE universe. The control is handed over completely to players to police the universe as they see fit, remember however, faction rating is still implemented.... Discuss'

Handing the power to player run corps would be interesting. The pirates would get a chance to go hunting if they could find someone curupt enough to turn a blind eye

I can't see that working, It would be too difficult to get the masses to work together to maintain law and order. Maybe a few corps could police there own areas of interest, but the rest wouldn't stand a chance.

yea it would end up being just 2 or 3 safe zones in systems where big corps have established HQ and then the rest would be lawless...ah sweet chaos*drools*

I doubt anyone would do it for free, so some sort of payrate would have to be disscussed, It would be an interesting idea. CCP could perhaps only start off by setting one constellation to be policed by players and see how it works.

Isn't that what 0.0 space is for? To be controlled and policed by players?
Altough I agree CONCORDs presence is a bit high, I think it is neccesary =|

I've got to agree with disco on this, that's what 0.0 is for.
Unfortunately the lack of player stations is preventing the player base from spreading to the unsettled areas.

I think that we can actually do without CONCORD, and let the Empires / players police their own provinces, with a player's individual rating towards a sovereignty counting towards whether or not they are wanted on a system by system level.
