I'd like to fit a ship out to use against people who warp into my/my friends missions to cause trouble. I accept I'm asking a horribly open question, but if I wanted a single ship and fit to deal with everything from Frigates to BS what would be best to use? I'd like to be able to scram, web and jam; any weapon system except lasers.
I've had a look at various options already including the Widow (which seems like overkill) and the Scorpion (which seems like it might fit the bill). Is there anything else I should consider?
TIA. Plus +ºa change, plus c'est la m+¬me chose |

Alternatively you can just respond to the OP with a ship and fit as I asked

One ship to deal with all types of ship doesn't really exist. Try a Cynabal. Its got mid slots to spare and gank to make most pilots rethink their strategy. Unless they have friends, then just warp away. |

Widow will work, it's not overkill since you must be prepared for battle ships and possibly even faction ships

what?
no
the hell is wrong with you people, why are you so evil?
if you want to fend off a griefer, get a cheap clone and fly a thrasher. AC armor thrasher will be more than enough to kill off any t1 frig or covops, and more than enough to hold point on anything bigger until you get a bigger point/dps, just burn your mwd to get under the guns and fit one MWD + TD + Point in mids. |

yep, dont forget to fit it with only officers modules ....
On the non troll side, i would say a nado, an arty nado can alpha off the field most frigs and cruisers, and gankers usually dont use something bigger. Dont even point, just target and press da red button. If you dont kill them, they will gtfo anyway, gankers dont like preys who bite back.
An alternative would be a dual neut tempest. |

is your purpose to escape or to kill them?
if its the first use griffins, blackbirds, scorpions or falcons - jam them and gtfo.
if its the latter are you expecting to kill them with one ship only? dont expect your mission running ships to do much to help as they are pve fitted. also notice that everyone shares aggro now so NPC can also be helping hand.

If you're looking to gank a ninja, we really don't mind when folks start shooting at us. That's the entire point after all, to draw people into consensual PVP. Expect that your prey will indeed be prepared for about whatever you happened to have on hand and the fact that you kill a relatively meaningless frigate won't really accomplish all that much, only increases the chances that he'll come back in something bigger and likely kill you. The widow is an OK idea if you have that much ISK to risk (Redeemer or Panther is probably better for the job imo). Unlike the typical dolts flying missions, your Ninja mark will probably be watching D scan, so a cloaked kill ship gives you the best chance at engaging him when he's not suspecting it. Cloaky Proteus or Cloaky Loki maybe.
You'd be better off simply running the missions with your buddy in 2 PVP ships with the hopes of bagging his kill ship. Just my 2 ISKies. Quality Assurance

Evil?
I find suggesting a Widow to a hiseccer for his first foray into pvp... altruistic

Assuming your friends are sporting weapons of some fashion, try a Falcon.
You don't need to kill them, just tackle and neutralize them until your friend liberates them from their ship. Falcons are really rather good at that, and they'll never see you coming. |

The Falcon is a fine idea, but doesn't work as well as a pair of dudes in what looks like normal mission boats (say Drake and Navy Raven) running the mission, when in fact they're fit for PVP. I've seen enough ninjas die (including myself on occasion) to know that works. Ninjas are usually pretty happy to see more than 1 guy in a mission, since it emboldens the mission bears and they shoot more frequently. The Falcon idea depends on your mission buddy to hold point and have the stones to finish the fight should enemy Logi show up etc. Simply run the mission with your friend in a disposable, PVP version of a commonly used mission ship (Drake, Domi, Mega, Nighthawk, etc.). Something that wouldn't look too out-of-place in a mission, yet strong enough to win the 2 v ? fight you're about to get into. Quality Assurance

NOS in Highs/light damage, Web/Scram/Jam in Mids, Buffer tank in Lows, ECM Drones on any BC/BS that would normally be in a mission. This will either be enough to allow you to warp out and dock, or depending on NPC agros, your mission running buddy enough time to apply some DPS to eventually kill the other guy.
Or you could just do missions more than 10 Jumps from any Trade Hub, Lower Population normally means less targets for the pirates/greifers/Looters/Ninjas and hence less likely to be disturbed by said pirates/greifers/Looters/Ninjas. |

Dude, you don't fight off gankers. You avoid their attention.
What you're doing is basically asking for instructions on how to fight off sharks, when the real problem is that you're bleeding in the water. |
