I have quit this game twice now since the first week it hit the shelf because of bugs of all sorts. I have never gotten the first minute of love from CCP on any issues I have ever had. Going to be interesting to see if this is just a short term issue or a long term problem that causes me to cancel billing yet again and wait another year to try this again.

Correct; it has more to do with which alliance you're part of, and I wish I could say otherwise. The GMs bend over backwards for BoB and [5], but everyone else gets the shaft.
To illustrate, my corp's CEO has lost a Scorpion due to game lag and they refused to replace it; worse one of his Ravens just blew up when he jumped through a gate...
Yes, that's right - it blew up for no reason. Full shields, armor, and structure, no hostile players, and the only things on the other side of the gate were a few NPC frigates.
Did I mention the GMs refused to replace that, either?
On the other hand, it seems that every time BoB loses something it gets replaced. When there was a massive server disconnect the other night, I logged back in to find myself at the same gate as a BoB member. Wanting to give him a fair shake (and also make sure his ship couldn't get replaced by the GMs for getting shot up while he was trying to get back on), I waited until his ship started moving again (i.e. he was back in control) before opening fire. He even fired back and had my tempest into armor when he popped.
Guess what? The GMs replaced his Zealot.
Welcome to Partisanship 101. Only students belonging to the Band of Brothers and The Five alliances will be admitted to the course - the rest, we just take their money and send 'em packing.
EDIT: I just want to say that I find myself extremely disappointed by this trend and wish the situation were otherwise. -Wrayeth

I know senior BoB people, they have the same problems getting petitions answered as everyone else (I know one that left over crappy customer service).
Big alliances just get CCP's attention on some subjects better. [5] using drones on POS got them nerfed, XETIC whining got alliance war costs increased etc.
That said I think some GM's are partisan ([5] say the GM's love XETIC, FA say the GM's love BoB :P), but I don't think the GM's as a whole have any particular partisan leanings.

I think its just human bias. You are more likely to believe and help your friends then you are your enemies. There is no such thing as a person without bias.

Edited by: Wrayeth on 27/08/2005 11:06:10 You did notice that I deliberately overstated the situation for effect, right?
While the entire situation's not as bad as I made it out to be, the examples in my post above are real, and it does seem that BoB petitions are more often successful than those of lowly peons such as myself.
Oh, and to the person who mentioned SOE's customer service (or lack thereof), I agree 100%. If you think the partisanship you see here is bad, try SOE's CSR's - not only are they partisan, but they're also grossly incompentent and rude, to boot.
EDIT: I quit playing SWG for a reason - SOE doesn't much care about their customer experience...or anything except money (which is funny, because keeping customers happy keeps them coming back). -Wrayeth

seems all alliances apparently have a GM helping them
Why dont we just let the GM's come out in the open...
could make a new role for them in fleetbattles

Make the bad SOE man go away mummy.
If SOE where running EVE I wouldn't be playing.
But seriously I know lots of BoB guys. They think the GM's are biased against them like everyone does. Getting ships back has little to do with your alliance but how good a sob story you can write.
