Hi, i'd like some comments (preferrably from someone who actually uses one) one the cerberus post-cold war. how affected is the cerberus from the missile nerf? is it as badly hit as the raven seems to be? is the training worth it?

The maximum DPS of a Cerberus using 5 heavy launcher II and 4 dread gurista ballistic controls is 320 DPS against a target which has 0 resistance and before any reductions from velocity/signature radius. That is pretty low, I believe it is 1/2 of what a Zealot can put out.
Cerberus isn't a very good tanking ship, it overall has low HP, it is possible to fit a medium extender in most setups and get around 3,000 shields though.
It has enough midslots for electronic warfare, which is really the only viable PvP setup for a Cerberus one or two tracking disruptors means you will always beat a Zealot or any other heavily turret reliant ship every time.
Also the ship has a pathetic capacitor, 850 to be exactly, another strike against it.
Overall it's probably one of the worst HACs unfortunately. ------

i disagree with the above... i use 5 arbalest, e50 nos/abt2, lg peroxide batt, 2 gisti boost, and em active, with 2 ballistic, 2 pdt2... i have fought a megathron and a apoc and drove off the first, weathered the second...i have done pvp with a deimos and and ishtar and maintained shields while driving him off with the e50 nos which broke his hardners and armor repair for the deimos and driving off the ishtar...the ability to choose damage and be generally unaffected by range is a huge tatical advantage... try it...its no joke i promise but you better always have fof, all missile skills to lvl 4, and practice... its one of the best im my opinion...

You'd be wise to listen to the above people agnst. What you experienced was probably noobs flying those ships.
With the damage bonus to kinetic the damage is dire, without the bonus(using other missile types) it is abysmal.
I always use 4 bcu.

How is the Cerberus for missions or npc hunting?
It must be very good against guristas, since they are quite vulnerable to kinetic damage |

To be honest all HACs will be fine for NPC hunting and Cyberous will be fine for belts\lvl3 too. Also NPC dont need to be warp scramled so you can use range bonuses and pwn.
PS I read some rumours that Cyberous bonus will be changed from Kinetic to all missles damage. In that case it will be much more usefull.

I tanked a cerb in an af last night and it was pretty sad. He was using em heavies vs 0% resist and they only did 15 damage a pop.

That's pretty sad, how fast was your AF going? I get the feeling that the missile formula is a bit harsh at the moment.. ------

works fine for lvl 4 missions tho.
even did damsel in mine without warping out, better then using a raven on that mission.
all none deadspace are a breeze, havent tried drones deadspace yet, suspect thats a bit too much tho

Eagle is sooooo much better for anything including NPCs than the Cerberus.
More skills needed though...
And yes, a Cerberus can't kill an assault if out of NOS range. I use mine for fleet fight as anti-tech I and anti-interceptor platform since many inty pilots haven't learned yet to turn off their MWD.
