I also agree that Palit is a nice brand at times. I'm convinced my 8800GT has lasted so long because they took it beyond spec and raised memory to 1 Gig.
On the flip side, if you watercool your GPU you probably need to avoid this brand, as they'll happily go off-spec as needed.
I may have come here from Myst Online, but that does not make me any less bloodthirsty than the average Eve player.
Just more subtle.

Gabber359 wrote:Awesome, ty for the pics ! Interesting screen config you have aswell, vertical, but for a triple-screen-cockpit effect. Also seems to be a decent amount of room between the SLI'd cards so that they don't melt each other :) Cold cathode lights + fluffy doggy at the top Interesting comment you made on the Corsairs. I recommended some of their units to two friends of mine (seperate area's) and both were DOA, yet all the reviewers and places I go to swear by them. Even their build quality seems high (Seasonic built). I was going to pick up a TX650W v2, but now I'm not so sure. The OCZ unit I was looking at was built by a company called Sirfa and while not as highly praised as the Corsair one, is still fairly decent. I've also been using my current OCZ Powerstream for the past 6+ years with no issues. *touch wood*. Might just do what you did and stick by the brand I know.
I've played with the displays in ultra widescreen and it sucked really. They were sat at 5760x1200 and the peripheral vision in the two bordering displays is always slightly fisheyed because of the way games are rendered.
Moving them to give 3600x1920 bring your peripheral vision in a little, makes your field of view taller and games look so much better. Eventually I want to get hold of another two displays and a third card, and run them at 6000x1920, should be awesome.
As for the power supplies, I've never had an Antec unit fail on me yet. I've pushed this one hard with a demanding SLI setup and a lot of overclocking and it hasn't missed a beat, same for most of the ones I've built for other people.

Im running :
Intel i5 2500k - stock, really no need to stress it yet as i havnt found anything it cant run nicely (soon to change)
8Gb of Corsair Vengeance 1600 DDR3 heatsinked RAM - special offer BIG discount,.
NVidia 560 (non Ti)
Rather good 850W modular PSU (cannot remember manufacturer - just look up the -ú120+ ones)
Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3 board
Antec 900 Case
Kept the Antec case cause its proven itself. Kept the PSU because its proven itself. The rest is - i believe - a fairly standard affair.
Performance with CQ is - fine. GFX card heats up to about 68 degrees after a few good hours play in summer. CPU's top out at @50 degrees on all cores in summer, weirdly with core 0 showing about + 5 degrees difference.
On the whole, nothing untoward to report.
