Edited by: Bad''B0y on 28/08/2005 13:42:16 last time I tried to ransom a brutix in my rax, I got jumped by gankathron(brutix dude was telling me that he needed to get isk from his corp..), was lucky to finish brutix and escape tho, but that was last time I ever try to ransom any1, from now on its just death to everything I find

yea sometimes, but always give them like 20seconds to pay. no matter what excuses they bring up, they either pay quickly or die.

yeah, im not realy a pirate, i used ransoming 2 times and got 20mil each time. had to put a guy into a pod and scramble that before he would pay up (so so tempted to splat his pod when he smacked in local but as a merc im not allowd to drop below -1.9, need to enter high sec for targets)

Petition inc generally do. Oh, and you only get one ransom, so if we ransom your ship, and you say no, we dont bother with ransoming the pod.

Well I'm sure that your friend who has encountered us once knows better than I do. We do not ransom 100% of the time. The situation in the sytem at the time may prevent us from doing so, we may not think the target is worth ransoming or we may just not want to. We do however ransom quite often.

When I hear that, I just blow them up because they are lieing. Anyway, I'd ransom but the sentries don't exactly allow for it. If I catch you in a belt I will give the chance though.

Edited by: Lifewire on 29/08/2005 13:14:55 ROAARR, TDG and BNCL do ranson in 0.0 or low sec roidfields. At empire gates or station we do not ransom unless the target pilot convos in time (before the shooting starts).
reason: - sentry guns dont give enough time for a ransom. - snipers cannot scramble
I asked CCP to add some sort of toll function in EVE long ago...what never happened. A "strike-colors-button" wich would make it unesseairy to gank the ship and give some time to barther about the tolling price. I dont know how players and CCP can expect us to do tollings while sentry guns knock on our ship structure. We just gank in empire and grab the loot. And we podkill. If you want to evade a podkill ask to pay a toll BEFORE you see the flashing red ships!!!
quick guide to survive an empire camp:
-> after jumpin stay cloaked. Do not move!
-> instantly convo one of the pirate ships you have visual or in local.
-> you have 60 seconds to tell one of the pirate ships that you want to pay a toll. after 60 seconds you uncloak. Make the pirates know quick that you want to surrender.
-> if you are already in convo with 1 of the pirates then tell him quick that you will stay and not move!
-> if you move without having payed or even convoed you will be shot at.
-> you risk beeing podded aswell if you ignore these red flashing ships. They are red flashing because they kill people. The only way to make them not kill you is to attack and destroy them or pay.
Try a TDG spawn or the TDG complexes in Pure Blind, Syndicate or empire. |

Edited by: Lagar on 29/08/2005 16:38:29 I think it's rare to se pirates who want's randsome and afterwards actualy alow them to live afterwards
further more... dont try to randsom a person ALONE.. that is just asking for a WORLD of truble..
Randsom should be REALY time limited... if he says he have to get isk... he's clearly geting help....

If that's the incident I think it is, maybe you should learn not to accept a 1v1, then go refit specifically to beat the opposition's ship and dual tank his damage type and not expect said opposition to take that as you breaking the 1v1 deal

I ransom most pods that i have at my mercy. Usually decide how much in relation to how old they are, and therefore what implants they have.
Someone said allow max of 20 seconds? Well tbh if you're in that situation your watching that ransom convo like a hawk, if they don't say 'okay okay ill pay' in 5 seconds they're calling backup, or typing a long boring speech which is not worth listening to.

You left the system while your friend was saying 'Yeah he accepts the 1v1' to me in local and then you reappeared several minutes later.

That was the other thing that secured your ganking. If you hadn't have started going 'OMGZ00R 8M OR YUO DIE!!!11111111' in local whilst we were having the 1v1, I probably would have brushed the whole refit aside if not for that. And not that you would have got my loot anyway, due to the fact you were in pods, but the only expensive thing on that Maller was a 1600 rolled tungsten which survived.
