Hey very good thread for a change.
very entertaining story too, yeah actually trade can be very exiting mining too, but what is exiting is making things together, yes factions should be more representative in this game, it is silly to kill a npc convoy then dock in a station of the same corp, it is silly that these are npc bait convoys, just here with a big red target painted on the back, shoot me for money. they are actually not part of the economy at all they should travel just like any other ship with their escort, but eh i m just talking about something to make pirate life more intresting again and this is not the topic. the main thing was to prevent docking to people who attacked concord in concord stations, to prevent docking to perkone when you jaccked perkone, to have a corp faction status, which would have an incidence on factory renting, laboratory renting and so on. faction wars, better npc pirates at gates and so on.
but i have other ideas for non pirates goodfellas, there should be a way to deal with politics by mainly funding agents or factions, making the corps with a lot of money to act as lobbies, hire some concord protection, in a system or things like that, i mean the only way to do solmething with money in this game is to buy equipment for the moment and the only thing to do with equipment is to plunder on people with smaller equipment, hence the increasing number of pirates.
In fact you are wrong on your issue though there are not too many pirates, since most of pirate groups don t have to war nor to claim a territory. there are not too many pirate compared to the peon because the peons are wasting money a lot, (losing ships instead of paying the tools) so the peons can still make good money and could save more than they do. the increasing number of pirates does not jeopardize the wealth of the peon in my opinion for the moment. on top of this if the number of pirates increases too much there will be some sort of autoregulation, since only the most succesfulln pirates will be able to sustain this life,(if we pirates lost as many ships as peons we would have to become peon to buy some ships again) like it has been said pirate life is a poor life, most pirates dont make very good money and if you heard moo talking about bs first this doesn t mean they were actually the first ones to have bs. Just it was in their interest that people knew about this and fear them, as it was in the interest of other corps to keep it secret.
so dont worry for the balance a peon who is succesfull enough can try himself at bounty hunting and piracy and unsucsessfull pirates and bounty hunters are back to the peon life. these 2 professions are not rewarding at all and are followed for pure fun. the peon life is boring but is the only way you make good isk.
