Hi guys and sorry for asking this .I have a typhoon and in mid slots i i have one high meta target painting. Why I don't see any difference in damage in any ships targeting or not targeting with this.I thought it reduces the explosion radius so more damage or something. |

More details needed.
1. You are using missiles and not turrets, right? Stupid question maybe, but painters don't affect the damage of your guns, just a minor increase in your hit chance.
2. What range are you painting from? If you are outside your optimal+falloff you won't be applying the effect properly. Train the ewar support skills to increase the useful range.
3. What are you shooting at? Anything shield tanky or big will have a pretty large sigrad to start with so you probably wont be losing any damage before you start painting, which is why it isn't going up when you turn the painters on.

Needs a warp disruptor.
More helpfully TP's increase sig radius, this will improve hit quality, damage dealt through missiles, and targeting speed for any allies locking the target, coz being warfare and tactics you are of course taking this into combat :) |

Thanks for this thread and your reply Mehashi. I have been trying to understand what the actual benefit of target painting was. Missiles aren't my thing, but I've been trying to learn what to expect from everything. |

Great link.I figured that my missiles do more damage in certain circumstances if the ships are small and fast and stuff like that. It's only in 20-30% in missions ships but maybe it will save me sometimes from small ships that have locked my warp.Thank you |

yeah because warp disruptors are needed to hold down those pesky NPCs that warp away mid mission.

Way to miss my point, as reinforced in the last sentence of that reply :p
Happy to help, but my tounge in cheek poke was referring to this being the pvp section of the forums, and this being a pve question. Not a big deal by any means, but you can't hold it against me to start hinting at pvp modules, even in a joking way, to embed those subconscious thoughts of pewpew and destruction :p |

Great article btw. Helped cleared a lot of questions I had about the general concept of target painting. Follow on question. Is it ever relevant to TP anything your missiles would generally be able to do 100% damage to besides assisting fleet? Example: TP a battleship when you're throwing t2 cruise missiles at said battleship. |

If you have caps they will be able to lock it a few seconds faster. That's about it... |
