Ok, heres a Idea for Titans, Devs have said that Titans will be mobile stations right?
Mobile Outposts?
Make it so that Unanchored, the Titan moves slowly, behaves like a dread, ect, but when you anchor it at a planet, you have to fuel it, and ppl can dock with it like a normal stations.
maybe like 20% refine rate, NO MARKET!!, space for 50 Player hangers, with say 10,000 m3 cargo space. Also storage space for upto 80 ships.
A Titan captain can stay in the station when its anchored, Deploy and control POS style gun turrets, and Deploy Ships via a docking bay as empty ships, and manuver them out 5km from the ship with little Tugboat drones.
A internal Cargo hold of say 100,000 m3.
Make it a REALLY REALLY REALLY big ass ship, capable of rapidly deploying fleets, fully kitted, with a instation fitting area.
When one is killed, make it destroy everything within a 150km range. ^^

well in that suggestion 80 kitted ships can insta jump to the destination system
titans will have jump drives we are told by devs, but using a titan u can use the jump drive to move lots of ppl that are docked in it, if thats how it will wwork
eitehr way, they wount be out for more than a centry, maybe 50years if we are lucky

its different from a pos cos its mobile, and can defend its own arse without you having to get more unarmed buddies to drop yet more turrets :)

what is its range ? what will eb the fuel requirements. Any ideas im thinking 30 m / second. Limited in system jump capability (in terms of warping) but they are meant to be bale to carry forces quickly into enemy territory.

a Warp time of 5mins to jump into warp, but a Jump drive thats 50x more effeciant and 10x longer range. Or something.
Also, Fuel Reqs?
perhaps....2bil a week? Make it so it only uses fuel when its either anchored, or jumping.

this is basically how I read from devs titans are going to work. and with the new style of "clone jumping" they will be very useful (basically you can activate a clone on one of these ships when it gets to it target destination and activate your self there and do your thing and then clone jump right back to your location you came from without lossing plants or exp). only problem with this is it encourages large fleet battles and as we all know the servers can't take this so it, so the servers need to be beefed up first.

problem with that is to make an "outpost" or "station" the server needs to reboot. (It isn't made for doin such things)

So we're basically applying the principal of the planned carrier class ship to the Titan class ship, nice.
Personally as the Dread is allready an anti-structure ship, i dont see the need for an even bigger combat ship, unless it could be fitted to deal with any threat. ---- Join Us
