Used to have the same problem in Britain with a notorious sign pointing at the towns of Ham and Sandwich, so they added the name of a third town in between them and it stopped.

lmao, thats the funniest thing ive read for a while.
The funniest road sign i saw was in the Isle of White, it said: "Large Plants Crossing" - i didnt take a picture tho and its not quite as funny as this one hehe.

There's a town on the German/Dutch border with a fuel station which is a favourite with Brit squaddies called W*nkum

Aw, cmon mods, the post title was a direct quote from the article. Would it be okay if the word was changed to all asteriks(sp?) instead?

I worked for a bit in an insurance company and one of the customers lived there in a house called Crustii, so his address was Crustii Tw*tt.
Made me laff a lot anyway :)

To them it is just a word. It isn't a swear in their language, so it is no big deal for them.
