Ive currently have electronic lvl4 and able to fit 7 miner IIs, however if i train to lvl 5 i will be still short on cpu to fit the 8th laser.
Can u fit 8 miner IIs onto an apoc with loosing a low slot to a co-pro?
Thanks

Training electronics 5 will give you 625cpu, fitting 8 Miner II's takes 640cpu im sure (not calculated) that you could fit the lows with either the named cpu or cpu II's (electronics upgrades lvl 4)which in alot of cases are much more cheaper and should free up some space on the lows for something else.

So the short answer: No.
That said, training Electronics to lvl 5 is pretty much obligatory.

Not being rude.
But flying a BS without skills like Electronics 5 and Engineering 5 is just wrong.

Dont think 8 miner II's are gonna take up alot of pg to begin with.

With Electronics 5, you'll be able to put 8 Miner IIs online with one CPU II. You'll need a second CPU II though, if you want to run any goodies like MWD, scanner, etc. in your middle slots. And you still have 5 more low slots for any hardware you deem necessary to the given mining situation

Your quite right, which is why he said ELECTRONICS lvl 5 as they are CPU intensive!
But I think his point was more to do with that fact that although Electronics lvl 5 and Engeneering lvl 5 are not prerequisites to actually train the Battleship skill, the would be classed as 'real world' prerequisites due to all the extra juice they enable a ship the size of a Battleship to produce.

have you got weapons upgrade?
unless its been changed you can save anougher 20-25% on cpu used by the miner II's as they used to be affected by the skill.

I have weapons upgrade to 4 and my miner II's still take up 640 cpu so weapons upgrade does not affect mining lasers.

Weapons upgrade has never helped mining turrets loose cpu.

I usually mine in an Apoc with 8 miner IIs - I have to fit 3 x co processor IIs but that's with other modules not just the miners.

You will need co-pro's to some extent.
Miner II's are very cap hungry. Cap rechargers in the mids will be needed and these take a bit of cpu too.

From my Apoc post in ships and modules, Linkage
8 x miner II (or DCM II + crystals) 3 cap charger II, 1 roid scanner 2x hardeners, 1 Large Accom, 1 Med II, 3x CPU II (and drones)
Should be able to tank most spawns and mine with that. But yeah a few co pros are nessesary, even with electronics 5.
