I was wondering are the WH identification numbers completely random or is there a pattern? I.e. KDY-168, REC-245 stuff like this. |

the identifiers you are using appear to be signature conventions from the system scanner, rather than wormhole conventions (such as entrances/exits). all signatures (combat sites/wormholes/manetometric/radar/etc-sites scanned using probes) and anomalies using that format are considered to be random, and have no over arching meaning or pattern that has been shown to predict anything about them.
i recommend you use wormnav.com for your wormhole info needs otherwise. |

Those number-plates seem random ... altho they seem to have a bundle of suggestive three-letter words excluded from the possibilities.
They change, for the same location, every downtime and everytime the server crashes / reboots. |

Nope, no code in the number-plate ID to tell you what the object is. |

A "K162" is always going to be the other side of a WH.
An "X702" is always going to lead into C3 space.
But the "ABC-123" that your probes starting tracking initially is just an identifier the game assigned to that sig for that day. Tomorrow (or if they do a midday reboot) then the Sig ID will change.
So for any given day, it's easy to take note of which sites had which Sig ID. Then throughout the day you can drop 1 probe and see if any new Sig IDs are out there.
But tomorrow you'll have to rescan your BM locations, to get the new Sig ID for the day. |
