I would like to get into manufacturing. I am a miner and I make enough ISK with mining, I just would like to spice things up a little bit. (And I'm getting close to learn all the high sec mining skills I need and I wish to keep on skilling something).
I checked EveMon and I think there are only 5 skills I need? Industry Mass Production Advanced Mass Production Production efficiency Supply Chain management
What level of BPCs should I buy? I mean the ME and PE levels? Since I am just now going to start, can I use PE 0 at the beginning?
I am looking for a website (I had the link once) which tells me how much something costs to create. (I enter the prices for trit, pyer, nocx etc. and the website calculates how much something is going to cost).
Anyone has any suggestions what to manufacture first? It doesn't matter for me at the beginning if I turn out profitless, but I don't want to manufacture something with a loss. |

This might also help you out http://zofu.no-ip.de/bpo
After searching on google i also found this http://www.eve-cost.eu/calculator I've not used it, but it seems up to date. There is also an android app which is pretty good called 'EVE Industry Calculator' <--dotbot |

As a sidenote, plan and calculate before you make decisisons. If you have an idea on what to start producing check its average price in the tradehubs, then calculate the cost of production including BPO, hauling and time invested and then calculate the value of the minerals needed. More often than not you'll find that there's no actual profit to be made and that some products are even produced at a loss.
Generally the most profit in the whole production process comes from mining the minerals and trading, not so much producing itself and you could very well find that for many products you're literally wasting your time. Would you focus on T2 stuff that will be better and you can ofcourse find a product that actually works out well but on the whole it's not that profitable. If you just like doing it and agree to little profit (or even loss) then sure but do make sure you know before you start. Amat victoria curam. Excellence in everything.

If you just like doing it and agree to little profit (or even loss) then sure but do make sure you know before you start. Yeah. I made some research myself a few weeks ago, and found the exact same thing.
Let's say I produce T1 items (I have absolutely no clue about T2), I make a few thousand isk per sold item, which leads to a few millions per day. Taking into consideration that I earn hundred millions per day with mining I really don't know where to start.
The value of isk is really absurd.
I guess once I have figured out how industry goes, I could start to build special items (like titans in 0 sec or something), and I could make 100m isk a day... but that would be quite boring. I'd much rather stick to high sec mining.

On the other hand, if I manage to create items, which require less space to transport than the minerals needed for them, and I could sell them with a slight profit over the mineral prices, that would be a slight gain for me.
I just need to do a lot of calculations first. |

Skills are correct
What level of BPC really depends on the BPC in question...An ammo BPC needs different levels of ME and PE to be competitive over a battleship BPC.
What to build first? That depends on your location and thus your market. Every region has it's own market, so while in the Forge it may be wise to sell "x" it doesn't mean that it will be wise to sell it in Metropolis too. Typical CCP. I wouldn't know actual numbers as I don't mine (last time I mined was back in 2005 as a newbie and only for a little bit) but I'm fairly sure that your daily mining output mineral wise wouldn't really dent the cargohold of a freighter unless of course you have an army of mining alts. Even if, the loss in time and possibly value isn't worth the slight "compression", not in high sec. Amat victoria curam. Excellence in everything.

Like anything in EvE: specialize.
You won't be able to make and sell everything, so you find something you prefer to make and sell. Then concentrate on watching that market; your supply chain; and the overall cost of making/moving stock.
T2 has a lot of sideskills to level unless you specialize, too.
Easiest way to break in the market is making stuff that you can use, as you won't lose anything (why folks often suggest making ammo, as you will use it). T1 ammo is needed for faction and T2, so definitely not wasted.
Also BPC over the long run is costly, you will be buying/researching your own library of them after awhile to control costs (as max run production is prohibitively expensive). Own your own, you can make 1 to 1000, and not worry about wasting the limited amount of runs on BPCs.
Ship production is a bear to make profitable as well. I'll be doing it more to supply myself/alts with ships than to sell, saving isk instead of making isk (which for a logi pilot and how they can be the #1 target, it'll save billions!). To blow my own horn too:

Lets you play with the numbers, to work out what levels are actually worth it.
Prices are all based off a 5% buy of the lowest jita sell orders, which is a way to eliminate the lowball figures, where you're going to be buying in bulk. Prices are generally pretty up to date, with a pull on the EMDR feed. to give you an idea, mineral prices are rarely older than half an hour.
