Today at approximately 21:00, the Impel class transport, piloted by Khifomek Mareyi of the Amarr Trade Registry, was intercepted and destroyed by a small group of pilots determined to resist the tyranny of the amarr empire. Dezzyb0y, Karn Sadi, kojo, deadlock X, kay0, Biggus Tankus, Erpy Esa and Thetis Midvar were among the pilots who assited me in eliminating this menace. Through skill and cunning a few of us were able to earn her trust, and thus easily pin her down and reduce her heavily tanked hauler to space junk.
Apart from recovering several expensive modules, 906 of an original 1000 elite slaves have been freed, the other 94 are now unaccounted for *looks guilty*.
Be warned amarr, we will strike again.

I am merely spreading the news, our numbers were an indication that there are still many willing to actively resist the empire. It my not have been a paticularly daring act, however... I feel that is something most amarrians "loyalists" can relate to... Can I ask where were you when this vessel fell? If we had too many then it was only because we expected an amarrian responce.

Were they able to defend the convoy against the attackers?

Freedom fighter, terrorist or pirate... it matters not any more.
what does matter is, that the attack on the hauler not only cost some poor delivery pilot their life, but it seems to have cost the lives of others.
I'm wondering what the thoughts of the -muff pilots are since the bodies of two gladiators have turned up having died of vitoc withdrawl, after all their just slaves with a different title...
Also i'm interested in knowing why a group who calls themselves freedom fighters, make their bed with know pirates. Makes no sence to me, unless this is to be the trend and the work of those before has been for nothing and these new wave of freedom fighters are just using the title as an excuse for murdering transport pilots.
But i have to agree with the quote from the news report in saying that the fine line betwen good guy and bad guy has started to blurr and and no longer do a see many of the freedom fighters in the same light as i used to. I even witnessed my children playing starship captains.. and where before they would choose to play pilots like Khaldorn, Wren or Maggot fighting PIE after watching some of the holo reports of their exploits.. the other day they was arguing who was to play pulgor of all people. When i asked my son why.. he said he didn't want to be the bad guy.
If the young gallente children who used to love the stories of the freedom fighters are now starting to feel this way, this could lead to a terrible future for the Matari people.

You mean to tell me that the indescriminate killing of amarrian vessels actually has repurcussions and doesn't lead to the freeing of slaves across the Empire? No way! You mean to tell me that if we hadn't destroyed the convoy, the gladiators would have gotten the vitoc? I am deeply saddened by the deaths of those two souls, but I cannot believe we are soley at blame for it. You talk as though the convoy would have gladly handed over the vitoc to them when a force of seven pod pilots was not enough of a bargaining chip. If the Minmatar gladiators or the Republic wish to blame me and my compatriots I will submit to their justice. But until then, I will ignore your meaningless words and remember the thousands of others who were saved by our actions. I have seen many occasion where amarr have tried to seed entire planets with vitoc addiction with less then half the amount we destroyed. You know this convoy was not destined for a minmatar planet?

No, this is just a very public example of what the 'freedom fighters' actually cause. I don't beleive the gladiators would have gotten the vitoc, true. However what if that impel as moving vitoc for that holder's private slave stock? Now they're all dead too. Or, if the holder was selling the vitoc, the gladiators could have obtained it legally through the markets of the Empire and it would have suited their needs instead of trying to attack the impel. Now two of them are dead.
These 'freedom fighters' don't like people to see what happens when they attack these kinds of non-combatants, and most likely they delude themselves into not seeing the consequences as well. Well, here they are in all their glory. Be proud of yourselves.
