Edited by: Nevi on 06/09/2005 23:39:31 int - 15 per - 9 cha - 8 wil - 11 mem - 14
I started with only 5 in perception, and didnt really know what i wanted to do, but i have my learning skills up to 4, and i dont really want to start again, but i will if i think it will help alot.
Should i start again? or should i carry on? (only 8 days old)
Its the gunnery skills really, i i think they will be a core component in pvp, and so wondered if i should have higher perception to combat this.

I would. I started with 7 (max for Amarr sub-race) and I think itŠs to low. For a pure PvPer I would try to get at least 10 in perception. Think about the time difference when you have a couple of million of skillpoints in Spaceship command, Missile and/or Gunnery. Thoose 8 days will be nothing if you have 5 more in perception.

As a PvPer I think you should get as high perception and will power as possible and charisma should be as low as possible. Mem and int doesnŠt really matter but not more than 6-7 because then you donŠt get enough points in Per and Will.

I recently reactivated after not playing for almost three quarters of a year... Planning to start doing PvP etc. Anyway, I discovered I had only 9 perception. And that's with Spatial Awareness 4. Reckon I should reroll? I have around, oh, 1,1 million skill points.

Bugger... Oh well. Guess I'll just make a new char and skill it up while making some cash with my current char. Thanks. :)

If you have a "good enough" willpower it will suffice.
I agree that perception should be your highest stat, closely followed by intelligence and mem/wil (equally (un)important). If you max out per/wil at the cost of your int and mem you will regret that forever while training engineering, electronics, mechanic, navigation and drone skills which are all critical in PvP.

int 9 perception 10 charisma 6 willpower 12 memory 16
I have
Learning rank 4 analytical mind level 2 empathy level 1 instant recall level 3 iron will level 2 spartial awarness level 3
I also have two implants
+1 perc +1 charisma
I am a Amarr character as well, and at the moment my current aim at the moment is to became a PvPer. Should I start over, or ..?

Do whatever you want regardless of your attributes. I have base 4 perception and can fly gallente HACs.

what's with all the memory? that's worse than me and my 6 per 11 mem.

What kind of horrible advice is this?
If you're going into pvp get your perc up as high as possible!
I'm a pure pvper and i would say about 80-85% of my skill training time has been perception primary. I wish i could change my perc but i can't, correct it while you can

to be honest... while perception should be fairly high for a PvP character, I think that a balanced attribute set is FAR better than plain uber perception.
why? imagine all the support skills for pvp under electronics and engineering which need memory and intelligence... they're cruical skills for PvP so that you can actually FIT to fight.

Your character is fine
PvP is more about real life skills and ship fitting ability plus tactics than it is about your "stats" primary or otherwise.
I've been beaten in PvP by 300k sp Alt chars before, used by an experienced Eve player - stats don't really matter a toss all that much.

Uhh no, balance isn't good.
There are more skill points in perception then there is in all the other attributes combined. ________________________________________________________

sounds like you overshot that one.. int and mem have lots and lots of applications too, although naturally if you're doing pvp you don't want to have low perc and willpower.

Right, I've playing awhile and have focused on making my char a good fighter with a slant toward electronic warfare. I was told that I should get max Intel/Will to speed learning. Did I make a mistake? Heres my stats.
Intelligence 9 Perception 4 ISK Charisma 4 Willpower 10 Memory 15
Total Cash 244,828 Total skill points 35,202
Can I do what I planned or do I need to restart? I know my char is still young but I don't want to restart unless my stats are total crap. I should also let you know that is is my first char so I want some versatility. Any feedback would be fantasic, just don't answer unless you REALLY know what your talking about.

Primary attributes for EW/fighter will be perc and int. Most skills u will train will have those as the primary, and have will/mem as secondaries.
Id start as a Caldari/Gallente tbh if your gonna go EW, being they have better starting int/perc than amarr. 24int/23perc/22mem/18will as a caldari missile/EW pilot, and I have always been happy

int - 15 per - 11 cha - 13 wil - 11 mem - 18
3.8million skill points
Would I be best remaking a charcter or will the time drain not be as bad as some people say for pvp.

Base stats:
INT 8 PER 6 CHA 6 WIL 7 MEM 12
Would I change it when I started had I known better? Probably. Am I content with it now? Absolutely. Once you've trained the basics it ceases to be much of an issue as far as I'm concerned.

Please, stop confusing the newbies by telling them they need some sort of optimal base attribute distribution. PVP is more than just Gunnery, Missiles, Navigation and Spaceship command.
