Anyone know if it is possible to change the port that eve uses? I think it wants to use 26000 but it is blocked.

nope. The only one who could possibly do that would be CPP and they wouldn't have a reason.

You can try to change server settings in EVE client from Tranquility to localhost and install software tunneling connection from localhost:2600 to another machine on another port. I did it once because my ISP blocked EVE communication. But it's not straightforward and requires another machine with free access. I used GPL application named Zebedee.

I can see how all this can be done (setting up a remote machine, installing Zebedee, etc...) except for how to change the server settings in the EVE client. How did you do that?

Does anyone have good instructions on how to set something like this up? How does my home machine/router have to be set up? How does my current system have to be set up? My home system has open connection and is behind a linksys router. My current location has most ports blocked but I can get out on vpn or telnet ports.

I am lost. I am too on a connection behind a router where all ports are block by default except the ones I have opened. And with no addition setting, my EVE client is running fine.

My "current" connection was not my home connection.

I can easily set up an EVE proxy but just not sure if I want to do that or not... ;) Will have to give it some thoughts.
