I know this comes up every few days, but I'm all annoyed and feel like ranting. Macro-miners.. again.
Go into a system (my 'home' system) and see obvious macro'ers. So me and some others pester them and bump them etc enough for a ****ed off chinese guy who's running the macro to message us. So i convo'd him, and asked him if he macro-mined and sold isk on ebay, his answer, a simple 'yes' and then he got all angry cause i was ruining his chance to get rich (his words, not mine).. I told him I had petitioned him with logs of what he said, and he told me that he didn't care and that CCP would turn a blind eye because of the accounts they sell that are used by macro'ers.
C'mon CCP, lets DO something about these damn macro'ers - They ruin the game for everyone, and I dont wanna hear any whining about 'but they keep the mineral prices down' yadda yadda, cause if there were no macro'ers, proper miners like myself would be able to make a living at it, and if we can make a living at it, then more people would bother mining. Lately, its been more lucrative for me to go ratting into the belts.

In the meantime, I'm gonna create an alt of my own, im gonna outfit it with cheap kestrels or something and do my damndest to take out as many of these macro'ers as I can before Concord get me, then I'll wait 15 mins, and do it again. Yarr!

Edited by: Waldo Barnstormer on 07/09/2005 17:43:18 macro'ers dont use corps, they stay in noob corps so they CANT be wardec'd.. if there was some kinda control on the noob corps, we wouldn't have this problem, all macro-miner corps would be declared on so much it wouldn't be worth them doing it.
How about a skill point cap on noob corp players, after that they get punted out the noob corp or something.
and I certainly hope he cant afford rice for his family, hes running least 4 accts, theres about $60 a month he could be spending on food :P

That chinese guy seems to be the main seller of isk on ebay so must be far from poor. Nothing will get done about macro miners... I've reported 4 lots so far and nothing...absolutely nothing!
Not a very good message. I think at least 1 guy should be given a job to find macro miners and ban them. With the new players, the loss in a few hundred accounts won't hurt ccp.
The people are getting angry. Check Jita Ice belts for macro miners.... it's blatent. And the Chinese guy is laughing in Ccp's face by saying he macro mines to sell on ebay.

Anyone try the new criminal flagging on them?
Try to steal their ore and put in your own can. Then, when the macro hauler comes out and takes from your can, you pop him.
That is in theory and not tested, infact, I am not 100% possitive that made it into patch. But, if it did we dan grief the hell out of them.

Edited by: Imran on 07/09/2005 17:56:22 Remove all asteroid belts from 1-.5 systems and move all asteroid belts to .4 and lower ^.^ that will solve the macro problem.

Edited by: Waldo Barnstormer on 07/09/2005 17:57:36 I suggest everyone do like I'm gonna Create an alt bred for war train skills on it 1 day a week put the alt in your home system outfit em with cheap ships and looted guns from rats kamikaze attacks on macro'ers, concord will get you, but your ship will be MUCH cheaper to replace than theirs.. and it'll drive them batty
Also, get other people in your system to do it.. strength in numbers!

If you really want to kill them do this.
Get 3 groups of people together, preferably of different corporations, one group goes to a belt far away from the macroers. The other 2 groups go orbit the macroer, the first group initiates combat between themselves. Concord comes in and and is occupied there for a while, then the other groups target lock and fire away to blow up the macroers.
Concord should be otherwise tied up with the first group to really respond in big numbers.

As you've done, petition it and leave it be for the GMs to deal with. I really don't think the "chinese guy" bit was relevant though. Anyone that looks like they are exploiting should be petitioned, labels not needed.

You may be half (or wholely) joking given the smiley, but I am relatively new (one month) and mine in 1.0 for Veldspar occasionally (although less often now that I am getting better agent missions) to make enough money to get ships and equipment. Wandering in anything below .5 has been costly in lost ships for me so far at my skill level so having the mining avenue is valuable to me for the moment. As time progresses, I will use this less and less. In any case the suggestion regarding the New player corperation is viable.
I do see these miners going at it in Luminaire where I genneraly mine Veldspar at and I agree they take away from the game. It is difficult to tell though - in fact the group I see may be legitimate for all I know - they do look automated though.
