anyone else come across this?
doesn't matter if i have had a fight, but nothing what so ever is appearing in the log window. i can re load my guns, take a hit, make a hit on someone but nada.
i am assuming it is probably a simple fix like clearing a cache of some descripton, but does someone have a suggestion?

I've had the problem since the end of July. The log just simply quit working. I haven't seen the issue addressed by any of the patches.

Interesting, still no response to this problem. More of corp mates are experiencing the same problem. I asked a questions to tech support and they gave a the same canned answer for this problem. Reload the cache which I did but to no avail. I guess I just have to play without the log. "If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there" |

I'm currently at work and can therefore not check the exact file names that you need to remove. But under you cache folder there is a file with reference to your characters name. Actually if I remember correctly there are two of them. You have to take the bigger of the two and copy it away or just change the extension. This will be you backup incase you mess-up. When next you start Eve, the log file will work again however all your custom settings and screen layouts will be gone as well. I have done these changes three times now and it's a pain to setup all the settings every time but, this is the only way to resolve the issue. Your bookmarks will all be intact and not changed at all. (I suspect the corruption takes place when you doc another view e.g. the Scanner on top of the log viewer. I can prove this but itĘs happened to me)
If you want more help contact me in game via eve mail and I will check the exact location and file name for you.

Are we talking about the file in cache\settings with a filename of char_nnnnnnnnn.dat (where nnnnnnnnn is a 9 digit number)?
I have a sneaking suspicion that my log stopped working after I logged-in on the same desktop with a different account - not sure though.

I had this same problem for the longest time. Then I reactivated my 2nd account. For some reason the log works on my second account. Here's the interesting part. I run the second account from a seperate install, but I just copied my old eve install into a new directory. The log works just fine on my 2nd account chars.

That's the file. You should have 2 of them. The one to rename is the larger of the two.
