I was planning to start a research character on my 2nd account because even though the main has 25in without implants, I need him to be training gunnery all the time so I can't waste precious time on it.
I need suggestions about what combo of race/type/profession would be the best for a character who doesn't have to do anything besides researching. I was thinking about a min/sebiestor/scientist like my main but I heard that probably the gallente wise guy is even better.
I'd be really glad if you could give me a few pointers.
Thank you.

I am also doing okay as an Amarr, but what I would like to know as well if I may ask is,
How are RP/day affected?
I currently am running 4 research agents with varying rp/day because some are giving me multiplier bonuses (eg 3x RP/DAY) that others are not. Can anyone also tell us how to affect these bonuses please? I would like to know how to get all my agents to give me 120+ rp/day (or more) instead of only 40. My agents currently are all level 2.

various ways to increase your rp per day
1) get a better research agent 2) train the science skill you are researching up 3) get higher negotition skill (increases e/q of agent) 4) do the missions

So you're going to want a character that can camp about 200 L2 missions.
THEN get about 50 L3 missions, so you can get your standing up high enough to use L3 research agents.
This means you have to make a choice like this:
1) I am going to do courier/hauler missions so I need navigation and an industrial ship.
2) I am going to do kill missions, so I need a cruiser/assault frigate and gunnery skills.
In other words, what if you trained science, lab ops, research, etc RIGHT AWAY then the time it took you to do all the missions was about three weeks extra than if you trained cruiser, industrial, and gunnery first? |

why on earth would you want to create a research alt just to sit in a station and aquire research points which are worthless unless you win anything, ive been playing eve 18 months and no sign of a BPO yet, but i have other skills such as gunnary to keep me amused..

I did the same about a year ago with this character. I found Caldari deteis and Minmatar sebiestor very well suited for lab rats in term of character attributes. Gallente could be nice if you want some boost to your charisma but I didnt go for it. The skills needed for the missions to lvl 4 agents were small training time in regard to the rest.
Since you have 2 accounts, id personally start doing missions with both running as many agents in system as you can. Courier missions, when there's multiple agents in system, will allow you to raise corp standing dramatically in a very short period of time.
This character got access to lvl 4 agents from carthum conglomerate (very good npc corp for raising standing quickly), kaalakiota and Core complex inc. Took me about 6 weeks to raise standing for all 3 corporations using 2 chars and between 4 to 6 courier agents at once. You want your lab rat toon to be able to move in a destroyer, as they are well attapted to move small amount of cargo, You can train for an indy ship as well.
Once you reach high end lvl 3 agents, you might want to revert to kill missions, as the m3 involved will start to go up.
