I'm never going in the sea ever ever again.
I just saw that video of the Oceanic Science students swimming off the coast of China when a huge 16tf Great White shark just comes swimming up and bites one of the students legs off at mid-thigh.
What are you all afraid of?

The hand of God.
I rode out Katrina in a town 50 miles west of New Orleans. Never doing anything like that again. If I didn't love it down here so much I'd move to New Mexico.

Stinging Insects of the flying, nest/hive making variety. I've been attacked too many times for me to trust the dang things.

Losing total control of myself. The few times I've lost control of myself, I've done some horrible things. Nearly killed myself once - it didn't help that my family and friends didn't do anything about my quite obvious chronic depression. I can forgive my family but .. well, I have a bunch less friends now. The thing I'm most proud of is getting through it on my own, without a single other person giving me any real support. The reason I was depressed in the first place was my girlfriend leaving me to become a nun all of the sudden. I used to have some anger problems due to lack of control but I would have to say I have developed more control over myself, my mind and my body than I had ever thought possible. It takes a lot to make me angry now. Still, that feeling that you're not in control of yourself, it's the most awful feeling in the world and I don't wish it on anyone.
Heh, I just realised you made a typo there. A 16 terraflop Great White Shark, eh? I think I can fit that on my Tristan.

My Big Fear: Being waylaid in city centre while with my girlfriend (alone is fine can handle myself). Serious paranoia talking bout here, can't walk past a group of dodgy people with her without grinding my teeth and getting uncontrollable shivers wondering how to get her away if anything happens whilst still administering a decking.
My Small Fears: Waking up without my manhood and running out of gear/beer or both.

Aliens (Extraterrestrials)
Not the starwars/startrek ones, more like the Roswell ones.
And pretty much anything that is not safe, swimming in water where sharks might appear, high altitudes which include both skyscrappers and airplanes, oh and... bugs and dogs, dont ask me why the last one.

I thought it a bit funny too but I think most man-eating sharks are coastal killers too.....
That's only because most humans are found on the coasts, not floating around in the middle of the ocean.
And, mottephobia, on my part. Spiders? Nooo problem. ____________________________________

It's only ever obvious in hindsight. Nobody in my family or circle of friends ever knew how bad I was, either. ____________________________________

The spider symbolizes the negative aspects of the mother, according to a shrink who interprets dreams brilliantly on a FM radio.

I don't mind spiders at all, I've held several tarantulas. However any flying insects scare the crap out of me lol. Particularly moths and daddy-long-legs (they are basically flying spiders! )

I know exactly what you mean.
My fear is the fear of inevitability. Knowing something bad is going to happpen but not having the power to prevent it.
If that makes sense.
