This summit, this place of meeting, what has it become.
It is interesting to read the numerous social, religious and other sociological distinctions that make up the pod pilot community, with many within this particular communications channel having notable drive to promote certain matters of their affairs.
It is safe to say that no singular drive is the origin of many of these conversation, with notoriety, power, wealthy and yes even love, forming a benchmark for much contestation. An ancient scholar once said that the measurement of civility is by the quality of discussion, and in so I must draw to you the issue that surrounds many communications that are in evidence today.
Ladies, gentlemen, fellow pod pilots, it is plain to see what is in vibrant circulation across the length and breadth of Galnet.
Squabbling, threats, betrayal, these are the hallmarks of such works that serve little purpose but to feed the primal instincts of what should be a more wise and appreciative group. No longer is the focus on worthy discussion, but on the base needs of an ailing group seeking further the childish needs of an already gifted kindred. Again and again, the old grievances are brought up without an attempt at resolution. Paramilitary forces clash away from the battlefields, eager to feed the propaganda machines that strive to capitulate some illusionary scale of public opinion. Men and women of dubious standings rave about great victories, hoping to attain the respect of their peers in order to feed their own desires for glory. Threats of violence, torture and death to those who do not agree with a particular political or ideological agenda are made, irrespective of the damage wrought to those who are not the focus of attentions. Unjustified slander it seems has more appeal then that of information of note, a sorry state of affairs that seems pointless in terms of much of the work we maintain in our life across the stars.
People of the pod pilot community, in the unified need for self-fulfilment and unjust gain, we have wandered greatly from what should be a more noble and adult path.
Discuss your grievances and work towards a solution that does not involve the immoral need of indiscriminate violence. Keep such discussions to their respective areas, and above all else ensure that these discussions do not overflow into communications threads for which they DO NOT BELONG. I have noted such instances on more then one occasion in recent times, enacted by those of us who should know better. Do not satiate the petty need for self gratification, by those of little worth who revel in proclaiming their own victories. No doubt if an event of worth has taken place, then it shall be recognised by men of good standing within the pod pilot community. Self indulgence in this situation is a rather dim practice in the eyes of many. Listen to the needs of others, and work towards the betterment of all pilots who have taken a life within the great abyss. Lend your aid when needed, and above come to appreciate the simple satisfaction of listening to the views of others. Many of the conflicts that wrack the world in which we live in come simply from the inability to listen, an issue that can certainly be rectified with even the easiest measure of personal discipline.
I am about to embark on a trip far from the confines of my office, and so it will be many days before I am again able to review this transmission. No doubt, it shall fall into obscurity amongst the chatter of what has been highlighted here, but it is my deepest hope that my humble opinion strikes a chord with perhaps a few of you.
Please, feel free to discuss the matter in depth, there may yet be a chance that some good may come of civilised and above all peaceful discussion.
Fly safe to you all.

Kallanagh, You're correct on every count. We need to transcend our differences and endeavour to understand one another rather than bicker and fight. Its hard sometimes, when all you meed is hatred and mockery for your efforts. It seems everyone I meet in EVE is more worried about whether they will be ripped off or cheated than about what's going on in the world.
My question to you is, how can we change this?

What's there to discuss? Slavery is immoral and the only way to end it is through highly discriminate violence.

And *I* say, if the entire universe was goverened and protected by the State, there would be no more arguments! This is what you want, isn't it? Total subjucation under one empire? That's what it sounds like to me. Pretty horrible, actually.

what is to discuss? We each fight our own corners and I am yet to see anything fruitful come of such diplomatic channels than the pandering of ones own ego against your enemies. In all my years and contact here, has anything really been solved diplomatically other than inflating ones own ego in trading polite tit-a-tat with those you kill whilst in your pods?

I tried to profess love here and was looked at like a mad fool. Then again, I am a mad fool so that is really inconsequential.
I also let loose my Ammatar heritage.
This place is more than posturing, violence, and disregard for civil relations. You just have to look for the nuggets of gold amongst the various debris.
There are many insightful things to be found on the galnet if one just looks.

Well ... unless slavers decide to free all slaves ask the millions of families they shatered for forgivness i see little hope of change.
My blade also thinks its odd those words came from an Amarr but never the less they hold some truth. Listen to the need of others ... that is not so bad .... -----------------------------------------------

Well maybe if you would all stop cloning yourselves it wouldn't be an issue. How many times has everyone died now? Dozens? Hundrends? You've all become so used to fighting that death doesn't mean anything other then a financial loss. How can anything be resolved through confilict if your opponent just keeps coming back, ready to fight again? Maybe if there weren't any clones to your names you wouldn't be so eager to fight all the time.

some of us try to produce interesting and inclusive media designed to draw out those who would perhaps not normally involve them selves in this amarr/minmatar dominated community, such as my work on the Intaki movement. And future work I am preparing to release and add onto. This Trevedian garbage just got me sidetracked.
other times some of us react to material already present, I should hope such admonishments you have submitted were not aimed at everyone, some of us try very hard to raise the standard of media here in. why it was just recently LyÆsol complained about a lack of any real content. I think at least that deficiency has changed.

I can only agree on that Galnet transcriptions lost more and more content the longer it has been going, in the beginning it was indeed a place of civil discussions, fine politics and it had content.
CometQueen, I can tell you with farily accuracy that Kallanagh did not aim what he wrote against any specific individual - besides to all of us.. or rather.. all of the ones that fall under the group he tries to reach and ask to better themselves.. It is a shame that some already at an early stage showed that they felt that it was aimed at them (no names given, I don't wish any flaming to occur when we can have a good discussion about it).
It was called out for a solution. I am sure many of us would like that. There will not come any divine enlightenment to aid us, this is something I'm sure we need to solve ourselves. What we need to do is to ignore falling to te childish levels, ignore even commenting the least in these egoistical attamts to bolster the own selfesteemt in feeble tries to act as they shake the universe by small victories that only are meeningless.
The indiscriminate violence that Kallanagh mentions isn't only the one that comes from the barrels of your guns. Also the meaningless and aggravating comments that don't add anything to a discussion except cause griefe and make it spin out of content with degrading marks.
We must all better ourselves, don't give gratification to the slander and low attemts of getting an illusioned powerbase. We should try to add content and not act as wild dogs when discussing here.. we can of course talk about war, hate, politics, religion and all that.... but we should do so on a level which is above the one a five year old would do..

Kallanagh, my old friend, you have hit the nail on the head. I really hope your effort will indeed have an effect on those portraied in your article. A well-conducted repartee is the spice of any conflict, its bane is an egocentrical flaming match with ever-repetitve "arguments". ----------------------------------------------------------------

The stance your alliance members have taken is quite quaint really...
I enjoy watching you all argue for your sides, but I have to say that your arguments aren't what they used to be.
But then again, the future looks full of wheeling and dealing, I look forward to watching it all develop. ___________________________________________

Free people can discuss their matters in a civil honourable way on public media as this.
slaves cannot. excuse me, but we will continue to be their advocate and spokesmen until they are free and able to speak for them self.
Of course, we will talk about things that are related to us. Thinks we have a knowledge about. Things where it actually matters to raise word.
Your "preachery" here may have a true sense in it, but it remains what it is. Preachery.
My personal observations are these - two major factions dominate this medium here and discuss their "propaganda" and worries. They clarify lies, they make statements - because as every ruler or marketeer knows... the public opinion, and support of the simple people is key to succsess on a long term.
i.e. if we manage to get some amarr citizens to engage their minds, and work with us agains their empire of slavery and inhumanity, then we can save countless lifes - because war would become obsolete.
A good justification for propaganda.
Why the topic of slavery is so dominant here is not only because we are vocal about what we fight for, it is because other factions are simply mute and have no other interest than their tiny unimportant ISK business, and probably they are aware of that..
i respect everyone who takes the word here, as long actions are there to back them up.
how about you sir..

I think this is the best reason here to free all slaves in Amarr.
I am sure they would kill themselves through vitoc withdrawl if they knew that you had elected to be their spokesperson. I know I would. -----------------------------------
