Drone 5 is finishing at 1pm EST and with it, my thorax will be close to completion.
With the current setup (IE Plate-a-rax) can a thorax with 8 heavies and med ions tank and kill an NPC BS along with some of its spawned escorts?
Gotta know. Going to be security detail for 00 mining ops and I want to know if the thorax will take me the next 2 weeks until I can fit into my Dom (drool, drones). Ill prolly have BS, BC, and cruiser backup. But Im concerned that a MWD equipped thorax will be the first cherry popped.
Any exp bettle ventrans out there?

The Plate Rax with T2 Neutrons will brake a npc battleships tank if u can orbit it so it doesnt hit u, u will win.

erm to my knowledge it is impossible/extrememly difficult to fit a 1600mm plate and 5 med ions... most have no plate + med blasters/plate + small blasters.... but if you can/could, i think it should break a bs spawn fine

platerax with t2 neutrons and 8 heavy drones will do it
edit: thats SMALL neutrons

Yes, it can tank 'em, if it can kill the tackler/scrambler frigs fast enough to get *close* to the BS. Even a blaster NPC has problems within 1k orbit. Make sure you understand the damage types dealt out by the rat in question and tank accordingly.
But the 'getting close' is the whole problem, and once you slap on the MWD to close those BS will rip even your plate-a-rax apart in short order.

TO be honest I think better will be medium rep t2, two hardneners, and medium size blasters then plate+small size.
First take down friends of BS and then using AB (mwd isnt good idea) get very close. I was manage to get close in maller but coulnd brake his tank. with medium size and drones should be easy.

Was moving around in pvp thorax. Came across to a 750k raven and 2 100k moa. They went down with me 40% armor left. So its possible. Even more easily if u have npc setup. Couple of things to consider. I have max armor skill and had 8 heavy drones with me. Another thing, make sure u launch drones after they all attack you or they will kill your drones 1 by 1 and you will lose firepower.

Quick aside here, wouldn't it be better to use t2 small lasers than t2 blasters? Or is their tracking insufficient?

I was able to break the tank of the supreme drone parasite pretty easily using 5 x small neutron IIs. Can't comment on the tanking much though, since my friend in his raven was tanking the damage.

Pulses are just bad blasters...med. beams II don't fit with med. repper, mwd & 1600mm plate.
I was using lasers some time ago on rax, when AFs tought that they can pwn me... and it worked better on harpys & enyos... on minmater, berserkers did the armor love.
At the moment for pvp 150mm II are hottest for antifrig. Blasters are nice for taking down bigger stuff.

The Thorax will take 0.0 NPC spawns, easily.. My skills are not high (just broke 2mill sp), and I have yet to find a normal spawn that I can not take solo (ive lost one thorax NPCing in 0.0 and it was to a 6mill BS).
The only normal spawns that I cannot do without warping out so far, is a triple BS spawn (takes two warp outs, one after killing cruisers / frigs, one after the first BS), and the other was a 6 cruiser spawn with those damn Guardian Troopers (I hate these cruisers).
All other spawns are extremely easy, just kill the smallest stuff first and work your way up, the cruisers / frigs are the problem, not the BS.
So you know:
H: 5 x Anode Light Neutrons
M: 10mn Ab2, Fleeting webber, Eutectic Cap Recharger.
L: 1600mm Tungsten, Cap Relay, T2 Med Repairer, 2 x hardners (Im in Fountain fighting serps, so Kin / Therm).

havent took on a bs spawn in a while, (pre exodus)...so i dont know if this will work
