I would rather prefer that CCP had a more ordinary but effective way of engaging players, with serial surveying through live chat interviews with randomly picked & demographically representative players. Albeit the will to take a survey would put a certain bias to the results, if CCP aimed to know its playerbase and their interests for future development, targeted surveying would be way more effective than the CSM... albeit it wouldn't be as cool as flying dudes overseas for 3-day NDA'ed work marathons.
