So here I am out with my corp, having a bit of fun before I go to bed. Let's try something silly but looks good. Seven smartbombs on a brutix. Sure, why the hell not?
So we go to a belt and are testing giggles and fun times against NPCs and having a blast. Two pirates (players) warp in. The punisher MWDs to me and scrambles my warp core and the claw decides to jam my locking capability. Whoops for them.
My seven smartbombs vaporized the punisher and his pod that stayed around much longer than it should have (9.4 seconds, almost enough time for him to get over the WTF phase). The crow decided to try and escape, barely making it out with less than 50% armor (he went in just after the punisher blew up). Never had a chance to launch the drones, which could have ended his career. After he trashed talked in local about how the Brutix was a horrible ship (yay for ignorance) he left the system.
Yay for having fun with smartbombs, and yay for pirates learning the lesson of EXAMINING your target before engaging! A brutix that doesn't have on any outside weaponry?! Something BAD is going to happen to you, better to not rush.

lol, keep in mind that this isn't a recommended typical setup. It's got a ton of potiential and too many people look down upon this ship it because they simply don't understand non-mainstream tactics.

Yes! A fellow advocate of 'setups for the occasion' :) This is precisely why I never read 'Ships and Modules'. There's so much you can do with any ship if you think outside of the box.

heh. I was on a chat channel with Rydark. He was like, oooh a Brutix doing a mining op! I bet we can nail him.
A couple minutes elapse.
He had 6 smartbombs loaded! WTF!
heh heh. If it makes you feel better you have driven Rydark into NPC hunting till he gets his skills up higher.

I used that setup on drone missions all the time. CBF trying to get my punny rails out because they hit for ****.
I love the idea of a brutix, but have to give this warning. They are not a ship for low skill point players.

Agreed. I would even go so far as to say that if you can pilot a battleship with incredible capability, then you can pilot a brutix with incredible capability. Don't expect to be able to pilot it as well as the ferox or other BCs as it's simply going to take more to make this ship sparkle.

I've always seen the brutix as heavy artillary with maxiumum long range capability to offer heavy support for the front-line ships. How well does it work with a MWD and heavy blasters due to it's already large signature radius?

one of our guys who usualy pilots a deimos decided to jump in a brutix as he saw the potential, and he figured it had a higher DPS than the deimos did and was liek "sweeet" then proceeded to rip to poo poo out of everything he saw

i used to love tristans, even after inties and af's were out, trying to take on ships bigger than me.
then one day i went for an apoc that was npcing in it, one large smartbomb later , several lost implants, i started using a thorax instead :/

Tristan is an amazing ship, regardless. Next time plug on 125mm railguns with some tungsten and antimatter ammo, along with a missile launcher. Attacking from 7-11k gives you a lot more versatility (which is what the tristan is about) in PvP than being forced to get within both webbing, scrambling, and smartbomb range.

its a great ship , just most people who use it forget they don't get dammage mod from cruiser skills and ignore their bc skill.

I used to fly Brutixes, I made my first pvp kill in one, I forgot just how great that ship was until I read this post, i think I'm gonna have to get me one now. Brutix is way underestimated, just because its hard to fit doesnt mean its a bad ship, it just takes more skill to fit and fly than others, thats my view on it anyway. I built a smartbombing incursus once, that was one hell of a ship, it may not have been able to kill anything, but the battles looked way cool... lol...

thing to remeber is some ships are not meant to have any tank. the brutix works amazingly well in a gank setup with t2 med electrons and tracking disruptors

You took out a freaking frigate with your BC, congrats man. Ive taken out Brutix before in my Malediction and had a Prophecy run away in the same engagement. I think my kill counters your kill, and the Brutix sucks once again.

 You are bragging about killing wee little me in a 600k worth punisher with your brutix? Man, maybe I should brag about killing a cruiser with a punisher all the time.
I will hopefully see you again in a month or so, when I will be committing crimes against humanity in a cruiser instead of a frigate.
P.S: I only have 1.1 million SP

This isn't bragging about a kill, moron :D This is about the idiotic nature of pirates who commonly underestimate ships that are not mainstream. This is about the incapability and lack of strategic tactics when engaging a ship.
And his is moreso about a funny story of an expermeintal setup of silly smartbombs.
IF you really thought that this post was all about you then you still have to learn about ego control. So take care, have fun, and learn from this :) You had balls engaging, but not brains. The latter will come in time.
And I enjoy the pirate above you too, who didn't read any of the threat and assume that this is a bragging post when EVERYONE ELSE understands that it was a funny situation that occured to pirates that attacked a bizarr loadout. (let's not even mention the people on this threat that eliminate battleships with the brutix). Take care, both of you rookies :*

That is a method i use to rid eve of miners but remember if a bs had warped in u would be dead fast as u would have no cap left ,you got a lucky one their and good on you......
