I'm just wondering how often new Tech II BPOs enter into the R&D Lottery.
Does anybody have any info? Is it completely random? Do they usually hit on a certain day or anything?

This info is kept very hushed by the devs.

Yep, there really is no way to know any of these answers unless a officla DEV reply is made.
Frankly, I really dislike how a lot of information within this game is "hushed" and is all here-say.

You can get an indication of it by watching the sell orders forum. Those T2 BPO auctions tend to appear in waves, approximately 10 days apart.

There might be a few that get realeased, but I think people getting busted for using ebay accounts for most of the bpo drops lately.

I was under the impression that new BPOs were seeded every saturday at downtime, one/two per week until the quota of BPOs has been met.
But that could be wrong.

Don't be foolish... here's how it works:
BPO santa goes to pirate corps and asks if they want a copy of the latest BPO release issue... Of course the pirates say yes.
BPO santa goes to the next pirate corp on their list and asks them... again yes...
About 7 pirate corps later BPO santa puts the last one into the lottery pool and of course somebody with 15 T2 BPOs already gets the magic number...

I dont know if they seed every day, I do recall a post by a dev that said that if BPO's are unused that they reseed them extra.

Once a new tech2 item or ship hit live they will seed until reach a total of 25 BPO's ingame.
If the dev's see that those BPO's are not being used by people that got them, they will seed some extra ones (read this in some Dev post).
Sometimes, if the BPO is awarded to a canceled account char or if the player takes more than 11 days (i think) to reclaim it, then a new lottery is made and the same BPO is awarded to someone else.
All my calculations and the fact above leads me to think that once a type of BPO is put ingame the cicle is 11 days between drops.
There's no "special" day when CCP draws the lottery mainly because i had offers in diferent days of the week (last two were sunday and tuesday).
PS: All the above statements are ONLY made based on MY experience and some "scarse" Dev blogs. They should NOT be taken as facts. Facts can only be accurate if Devs post themselfs about the lottery mechanics.

My observations point to t2 bpo seeding on fridays or thursdays, not entirely sure though.
Also I don't think this happens every friday, They usually show up in waves. Mebbe every 2 weeks?

I have access to all market data. Believe me, we have not reached anything close to deflation yet.
