Edited by: Roloco on 28/07/2003 15:00:36 Edited by: Roloco on 28/07/2003 14:59:19 OK this is the deal. I have gotten to lvl3 cruiser in 3 of the 4 races so out of all the Amarr BB's, Gallente BB's, and Minmatar BB's can anyone tell me with experience whatÆs the best ship to aim for? I was looking at the stats and the Apoc/Arma look good and so dose the Mega/Domi but the Tem/Typ not so attractive ... Thanks...
(Edit)- Oh yea what im looking in a BB is versatility not just str8 power but capability not be jammed so easy and still have a punch.

I would go for a Dominix, megathron or apocalips. All these ships have good medslots and lowslots and good for solo flights. Dominix is the cheapest 1 so i might bee a good start. I would not go for the armageddon exept ur in a large corp with suport crusers/bs, its mainly made for dealing damige and nothing else.

The Tempest is the most versastile of the tier2 battleships, however its specialities are missiles and projectiles which many people find inferior. It is very average in all ways, except for being very fast.
The Megathron has both hybrids and drones, so if you already use or plan to use both of these, its the way to go. The Apocalypse is sort of similar to the Megathron, though it is overall stronger and has Lasers as its single speciality.
The Dominix is also interesting, it has an absolutely huge drone bay and a high number of mid/low slots allowing for great versatility. However everything else is sub-pair compared to the three above.

To me the Scorpion is by-far the most versatile battleship available. It is great for NPC pirate killing, put on 5 shield hardeners and your invincible. It is the best 1v1 ship in the game since it can jam anything, or you can put on 4x 70% hardeners and become almost undamagable.

I don't know shield hardeners.
Do they use cap?
If so, how long does a scorps cap last with that many hardeners on?

n00b!
They use cap, 20 every 10 seconds, that can be signigficant on a cruiser, but will last ages on a BS. 4 running at once will probably drain it's cap slowly, but you can run 2 continuously without problems.

Ok, thanks for the info. But this makes me wonder why you would want 4 70% hardeners when two 40% hardeners would give you about 60% resist, i think, and maybe use less power, cap and cpu but deffently 2 fewer med slots?

becuase there are four types if weapons...and you don't always know which two the enemy is using. So its safe to carry all four just in case. Also, when there is a diversified weapons fleet, 2 won't hold all the fire.

Nope. A 70% hardener is 20 cap/10 secs (20 cap/12 secs for dropped ones, I believe). 40%'s are at 50 cap/3 sec unless that changed again recently, which I doubt. |
