So I've been multiboxing most games I've played for quite a while. Just the other day I started up my EVE Client and after a fresh install I had forgotten a setting that I had applied to my previous installs: "Interval Immediate".
Honestly, I'm not exactly sure what this does or why I am forced to set it to this when running more then one EVE client. With a GTX690, there is nothing on the market that currently taxes my video card. Two clients of eve doesn't, neither would six. However, when I start EVE, obviously in Windowed Full Screen mode, if I haven't changed the Interval to "Interval Immediate", my FPS staggers near 10-15 FPS, even with settings set to minimum. The FPS remains around 10-15 even with the graphics maxxed.
Just curious if anyone knows why or if there is some other setting I can change whether with drivers or in game that would make this smoother.
The primary reason I'm curious, is periodically when moving around the screen quickly in EVE, it seems to "speed up" for a second like it was lagging behind. Atypical to the usual lag of having your ship rubber band on screen. |

I'd go with Interval one tbh, immediate kinda fries the card (or at least did with mine), it was working at a nice 95C...
At interval one it is down to a nice and cozy 65C.

The problem with Interval One is my clients will only run at ~10 FPS--and I have no idea why. |

I believe this is an NVIDIA driver issue, it's not game-specific and also occurs on linux according to google -- just google for v-sync multiple monitors, and then gaze in despair at all of the results. V-Sync (Vertical Sync) is the common term for Present Interval; off is "immediate" and on is "one". ISBoxer (disclosure: I wrote it, that's why I have experience with this issue) disables V-Sync by default to prevent this issue.
I believe that the best bet you have for solving this issue is the Display Adapter setting, which is right above Present Interval. If you're lucky, V-Sync is operating against the wrong GPU/monitor and adjusting this will correct it. If not, well, you've run into what the Internet has been reporting for at least a few years now :) Adjusting this setting HAS been reported by ISBoxer users to correct an issue like this, if not this specific issue, so that's something...

Damn, with a 690? Thats top of the line.
Dont know why you're having issues. Im running three clients now with 2 680's at max settings on each client and getting between 60 -90 FPS. Clients are set at Interval immediate. GPU Temps never went above 75 and CPU tems never went above 70. CPU was usually around 50.
As Randi said, you may need to download updated drivers or something. "The American Government indoctrination system known as public education has been relentlessly churning out socialists for over 20 years". - TravisWB |
