Well if what ive been reading about upcoming patches is true, it looks like we might finally get a little market price stability afterall. It looks like production limits from copied BPs are going to be a reality. There are going to be "production licenses" in play, which will affect how many items a copied BP can produce. If the character who created a copy creates it with a 2 item production license, then that BP copy will only produce 2 batches of an item before it becomes unusable. Hopefully this will mean that those of us who spent the extra money on originial BPs will once again be able to produce items for enough profit to make it worthwhile.

Grave, one thing your incessant harping about prices has convinced me of.
There are other producers to buy from than you.

They are only screwd after the patch. Any copies made before the patch will be unlimited.

Edited by: Heff on 30/07/2003 06:24:58 If said patch ever becomes a reality, we will do our best to service all existing partners to their satisfaction. We have never made a business out of taking advantage of other people. If CCP throws us a curve ball, we deal with it and formulate a solution such that everyone can realize a benefit. We always have and we always will. That's what we do.

Umm.. guardian I think you have the wrong guy. Ive made a total of 3 topics on prices in eve, including this one. Both of the previous ones dealt with people selling items for below cost (which is dumb). I have repeatedly said that if someone can sell an item for a low price and still make a profit, then im all for it. You have not seen me "incessantly harp" on prices, because I dont produce items for sale anymore except for drones for the most part, and havent for some time. We recently sold our Moa BP because we werent using it anymore. The reason we still produce drones is that we have heavily researched BP's so we can sell at competitive prices and still make enough profit to make it worth the effort to start a production run. I have been pondering this issue for a while, and there are certain things ccp has to be careful off. First off, they can not apply this retroactively (old copies will become useless after some time) because some people have put some money in these already, and this would **** many players off. Another issue with regarding to copies with a certain production number, they need to make it time specific to copy with regards to how many ships you get out of a copy. As an example, why would i make copies that make 5 ships and have to sell them for 2M each when i can make copies with infinite amount and sell them for 10M because other people decide to make the limited copy versions? I know I would be ruining the market, but if i dont do it, someone else will right? I just hope my point is clear....

Does the number of uses a BP is good for affect the time it takes to copy it?
I was wondering if, for example, you wanted to copy a bp for 1 use only it would take less time to copy than one with a 1500 use limit?

I doubt it. The usage thing is a way for the blueprint owners to control the market
