Has this problem been fixed yet? I thought I saw a post by Pann about it being fixed but I checked out a system that had been all baby roids and it's still all baby roids. I had even cleared a bunch of them and they came back as baby roids. Am I missing something or is Pann talking about something different?

I think you're reffering to the post which said that the *one* person who know's how to fix the roids is currently away ill/on vacation, therfore they won't be fixed until he's back... and no, you're correct, they still aren't fixed ahh well, on to pastures new...

Edited by: Sarf on 28/07/2003 20:50:11 Personally I don't think they are not broken. what I think is happening and i have tested this to some extent. Is that the resource system tracks where all the minerals go. now if you mine a rock (kernite in this case) and don't sell the minerals the rock spawns with very little in it. when I mined this rock I got less and less minerals in the rock over the week (mined that rock out every day and stockpiled the min.)
Then I sold all the mineralls to a NPC next day the rock was back at full strength.
This could all be a cowinsidence but it makes sence from what the devs have posted about the resource system. And I know alot of corps are Stockpileing the rare min, mine is, and we use small dribs and drabs for production as we need it.
so i think the system is working and the rock that are small are because the min it held are stockpiled somewhere.

Thats bs. The roids do not grow. They wont spawn bigger if you use or sell the minerals. They spawn small and do not get bigger over time, thats the deal. It may not be good but thats how it is. I dont understand how long it takes to fix this, probably 3-4 weeks since I reported this.

Edited by: Sarf on 28/07/2003 21:36:36 I agree they don't grow. but when you release resources back into the pool( blowing up a ship, selling to NPC,...) then those resources respawn as roids after the next down time.
What I was saying, maybe not clear enough, was everytime there was a down time the kernite roid was back with less minerals than the day before. by the end of the week I was getting 16 from it on friday, saterday, sunday.
When I sold my min on sunday nite the roid respawned full on monday morning.
This is all conjecture, but the theroy fits the observed facts.
we have been hording about 3k of mega we mined a while back, we use it in small amounts since. it is not inconseviable that the roids we mined from still are not respawning at full size.
The DEV's have said that the mineral system is a closed system and there is a finite about of all resources in the system.

Before the last patch, my corp went bistot mining, and we got 20-30 bistot per roid.
After the patch, we found roids with 500-1000 bistot each. Same system.

I've found that every now-and-again the roids seem to fully re-appear... it's happened at my old mining spot - for a week or so the roids respawn with about 30 units in, then one day they're back at 2kunits, etc... and it wasn't after I'd sold everything either I'm sorry to say!

CCP has siad in the past that all the minerals in the EvE universe are tied into a giant circle.
If everyone in the EvE universe started to stock pile minerals and not sell them, and we went a few weeks with no big battles, in theory, all the minerals would start to dry up as they are not being recycled back into the resource pool.
Dont flame me, im just stating what CCP said in beta. ---------------- ~= Askari =~
