I checked out the Jukebox, and naturally the first question that popped into my noob head was "hey, wonder if i can put some mp3's in there?"

There used to be a tool for that on EVE-I.com (called playlist generator). But as that site is down atm, the only sollution is to run a proggy like Winamp in the background.

I can't get this to work. Actually, I can, rather Eve won't play the tracks. It shows them properly, but they won't play. Jukebox just sits there. Heh.

Sounds like a false alarm to me--there is definitely no virus in the program.
The playlist generator no longer works, however, as EVE simply no longer supports it... its against the EULA and CCP prefers you to use Winamp/etc anyways.

its still possible, technically you don't need the eve-playlist generator..
the key is you have to rename you .mp3s to .ogg (they don't have to be ogg format just renamed to the right extension. you technically don't need the playlist maker, it just helps you get started. All you really need is the inflight.m3u playlist format..
i wrote a little guide a while ago, i dug it up.. here you go
Pysek here is your guide..
1. Enter MP3s into Eve Playlist Maker do the convert and let it finish.
2. Open up Windows Explorer/My Computer and navigate to your Eve Directory, the default is C:\Program Files\CCP\Eve 3. Open up the res/Sound/Music folder, there will be a bunch of mp3 files that where created from the Playlist maker and an inflight.m3u file.
4. Rename all of the mp3 files to ogg eg. MyMP3File.mp3 to MyMP3File.ogg just use your the F2 windows explorer shortcut to quickly go into rename mode for each file.
5. Open up the inflight.m3u file in Notepad, use the Control-H function to search and replace all ".mp3" names to ".ogg" names.
6. Save the inflight.m3u and start up the game and enjoy your own music.
the key is the rename of the .mp3 to .ogg,
you can always send me an eve-mail if you need more help.
