Says it all. The first PC to get one of these will be planting the isk tree.
Can we have these please, Now would be nice. If there is a good reason for making us fly around for an hour collecting cans, I'd LOVE to hear it.

month subscription = CCP richer
spending less time picking up cans = same # of months subscription = CCP not any richer, but with happier customers

Of all the reasons put forward against this, only one actually makes a bit of sense. That reason is "imagine loot thieves armed with loot drones.."
But since we'll soon be able to blast loot thieves, I think that covers that scenario. To balance it even further, make loot drones very expensive, almost stupid expensive, and have no shields or armor. That way, a loot thief can do his business from 20+ km away from your can, but he'll do so at the risk of you blasting his very expensive drones in 1 or 2 shots.

i think having agents dropping them as rare or high end LP
Or NPC sellers (i think 20M per drone) is an ideal price. And a limit of 2 in space at once.

So what kind of skill would go with this? A rank 5 "Salvage" skill, that gives the drones a 5% chance per level of actually doing what you tell them to do?

Bunch of mission-running nancys! Where are my Spider Drones? It's about time my drones could tackle like the best of them, out to 40km.

Is it so hard to fit a cargo scanner and to just collect the ones with worthwhile stuff in?

yeah! and take 10 min getting there.. by the time they get there you see em go POP! ;)

I dont think salvage drones will be loot collector, but perhaps more specialized drones that will 'mine' wreck that CCP will spread out in space to get minerals (or alloy? like npc drones) from them

HOw about a salvage ship that can carry those salvage drones ? like a new industrial, but specialized in bringing home the goods ;O)
