I just got the game a couple of days ago. I wanted to become a bounty hunter but it seems impossible. Theres no way to find the guys you are after..and its a big universe to be just driving around hoping for a good drive by. Are there going to be anything in coming patches to help bounty hunters find and track their targets? Thanks for your time.

Most of the guys on that list are probably very experienced players. Well, most them are I think. I don't think it's wise to go bounty hunting at an early stage

Yes there are ways to find the people you are looking for. The #1 way is to cultivate informers & spotters. People who know that you will pay well for good information. The other way is to cultivate high-level agents. Many agents have a "locater" service which lets them give you a location for another player. ___________________________________________ General Protection Fault

Agreed. Bounty Hunting is not a noob or solo operation at all. Learn to use the map, corp members, forums, and NPC agents in multiple regions who sell "information". Typically the folks who are wanted are experienced fighters and will be difficult to destroy even if you do find them.
The map is your friend... spend some time with it and you will see bounty hunting is not impossible, just difficult.

Of course you could hunt npc (drone) pirates to collect bounties. No fame or fortune here though. Asteroid belts are a good place to start. Just don't pick a sector that has a security level too low with pirates that are too strong for you to handle. Experiment.
Q. Gopher __________ I know...it's only ROCK and roll, but I like it!! |

Isn't there a scanner or something you could deploy (cloaked?) in a system that will give you a readout of all the players that passed through?
Or an agent that can tell you something similar?

I remember one or two weeks back a player who wanted to start a new corporation dedicated to bounty hunting. Just start scrolling back through the posts and you will find him.
I can play this massive multiplayer game ALL BY MYSELF!!!! |

Your best bet is probably to join a corp that's heavily into bounty hunting. Check the recruitment forum for likely candidate corps.
