I used to use
6 x mega pulses 2 x siege...
but with the new missile chance.. i geuss the siges are waste ? against the frigs ?
0.0 ofc... mostly around syndicate...
can someone put me upto date

I use this setup but its not too brilliant against frigs, they die in the end tho, oh and you can run it for pretty much ever (if you have BS lvl 5 energy systems op and energy management 5)
Highs: 7 Megapulse t2, arby assault. Meds: 4 Cap Recharger T2 Lows: 2 Large Armor reps t2, 3 t2 hardeners (rat specific), 2 cap relays.
Drone Bay: 15 Medium Drones
Crystals: Multifrequency, Standard, Radio.
Slow collecting loot, slow at killing frigs, but if you have the time you can tank/kill any npc spawn no problem (well, from what i have come up against)

Well mega pulse wont hit frigs, barly hit the cruisers, and the average spawn has more cruisers than anything else.
So % wise go for a setup thats either aimed at range, or the size of ships your killing.
This works well:
8x Heavy Beam II
1x 90% Webby
3x Cap recharger II
2x Large Rep II
3x 55% hardners
2x Relays
Use Multi and Radio.
15x Med Drones.
This works well, I know I know med guns this and med guns that, but seen as you are gonna get webb'ed and all the rats come
to you, you migh aswell use weps that have high tracking.
Use the webby on Frigs and let the drones kill them fast.
Other than that its a great setup.
Then Tank runs forever seen as the weps are not sucking your cap like large weps do.
Dont dis it till you try it!
Ive killed everything ive found with this.

you could try this...
high: 7 dual heavy pulse II 1 large smart bomb. (7.5km pref)
medium: 1 100mn afterburner II 1 web (I use a 14km web) 2 cap recharger II
low: 2 larger armor repair II 3 armor hardners (tech II or faction if possible) 2 cap relays
6 heavy drones or 15 medium drones for extra firepower against battleships/cruisers (carefull with that smartbomb)
basically charge your targets and get in range for multies. you could drop the web if you feel you're low on cap.

8x Megapulse 3 Cap Rechargers ECM - Racial II 2 Large Reppers 3 Hardeners (racial) 2 Cap Relays
Is what I use, and have no problems, the ECM means I take a lot less damage as I jam the BS. For frigs and the close range cruisers I use heavy drones while approaching and shooting the BS. Interestingly, jammed BS often approach you :P. Jammed frigs usually fly away instead, cruisers either orbit or fly away, and if htey fly away they get blasted by megapulse :). ___________ ~Fredbob~

with the dual heavy beams you can get better ranges (10-80 km) than the megapulses
EDIT: Use either smartbomb or drones to kill of frigs, webbify cruisers to finish em off with the lasers

i use 7x megapulse 1x large smartie (7.5km) 4x cap rechargers 2x large II reps 3x hardeners 2x cap relay
think with n-type hardeners you can use a ab in med ._.

I use the same, but with a heavy med pulse II instead of sb.... should spend some money on an sb prob though

My setup is very similar to yours Fredbob, except i use 4 cap II's. works very well! can keep the tank and guns going more then long enough to kill the spawn :)
Not forgetting a drone bay full of hammers'

Mmm cap IIs, I'd use them except I can't afford em atm ^^. Yeah it's cool being able to keep things going for aages, much safer  ___________ ~Fredbob~

This works against sanshas atleast, but I havent really flown it latley, been sitting in station training skills for a few months now...
but It will take down a 3.5m commander spawn down, and the frigs are no problem becuase of the smartbomb..
oh and yeah it hits crusiers fine, the trick is to warp in at around 80km. with.. i think infared crystals, i cant remember, but i get something like 72km optimal i THINK.., you can also pop a few frigs on their way to you if you want.
