And you are??
Yes big battles do happen. Go out to 0.0 and have a look ;) Dreads are verymuch in game, just look in the market. I think the price is a couple of billions.

First of all, welcome back :)
Yes, dreadnaughts are in the game. I think prices range from 1.5B-2.0B but I could be way off.

For some great big battle videos that aren't lagged to hell, find "Stain Down" and "The Battle for Venal". But they happen every weekend. Just look for the giant red blobs on the map... -- Proud member of the [23].

People DON'T afford them. Alliance/big corps do. _________
In war there is only relentless and pointless quotes about war such as this one |

QFT
You need multiple people to even make use of a dread.

A Dread could take out another Dread, and BS', but wouldn't stand a chance against Interceptors or AF's because it's a big lumbering beast.
It's for huge fleet battles; 's why it's called a Capital Ship.

Probably not even good for fleet engagements, its real purpose is to blast away at POS defenses.
Carriers/Titan's will likely be the Capital ships used for fleet manuevers. Carriers at the front, Titan's in the rear or one system over, providing provisions and supplies/pilots.

it would take a terrifying number of small ships to even begin to damage a dreadnaught... and if its a moros, it can ignore small ships and let its 20something heavy drones take them down.
dreadnaughts are not at all like battleships they are tactical ships with the task of erasing pos's theyre not your next ship to aspire to

Yep... super rich corps that have 99 T2 BPOs, pirate everyone in sight, and generally just fly around and blow crap up for the lark of it.
What I am curious to know is what CCP is going to do to prevent dread blobbage? I've already seen the pirate corps quing them up in close proximity.
And I find it strange how the *very* much larger alliances, the 'industrial' alliances, have none, or very few, and none within any sort of proximal range to counter a pirate dread blob (which will be the only way we'll see our favorite pirates fielding them. They can barely fight a Probe solo with a gankathron, much less anything cloer to 'equal').

Drones cannot adequately defend a dreadnought. Even 35 heavies. All it takes is attakers equipping smartbombs.

sure, if they can lock before the targets get close enough that being webbed doesnt matter, which isn't likely. ;) -==- Holy-Jim> as you know, surprise is the key to victory.....surprise! LooseCannoN> ahh! LooseCannoN> my plans have been foiled! |
