My main have good projectile and shield skills, not much of anything else. I moved to amarrian space but found that Machariel isn't too good at fighting tracking dampening Sanshas. And shield tank, while stable most of the time, would break eventually. The main problem was in unability to deliver damage becouse my optimal/falloff was reduced to funny numbers.
So my question - what ship would be best in this situation? I think about Abaddon - but i lack laser skills, my armor skills are at 3-4. Maybe armor tanked Tempest Fleet Issue? I got very good projectile skills. I thought about Vindicator, but its expensive and i had to train up hybrid turrets from scratch.
And i really dont know if these above are good option, it will improve tanking but can't do much about tracking dampening.

you either need missiles or drones to do sansha effectively.
Navy raven or dominix or rattle are all good for sansha |

Navy raven or dominix or rattle are all good for sansha +1 to this suggestion. Missile and/or drone boats are really the most efficient way to run some of the more TD-heavy Sansha missions.
If you wouldn't mind waiting until the June expansion, the Typhoon will be turning into a basically pure missile platform that would do decently well against Sansha and thus you would avoid having to cross-train into Caldari if you didn't wish to do so.
That, or the new Armageddon will basically be an Amarr missile variant on the Dominix... either one would work. |

Typhoon! Really? I always wanted to fly this ship but i couldn't find it usefull at PVE, Mael was far better at L4s in Minmatar space. You say that Typhoon gonna be no longer split-weapon platform? And i'll be able to fit it with cruises/torpedoes only with full bonus? That would be awesome. So.. there is chance for me in Amarr space yet. I will wait till Odyssey for it. thank you for suggestions - very helpful! I like Rattlesnakes design but my drone skills are low and i really like have full moving freedom. Maybe i'll give Rattle a try, but i know Typhoon gonna be my ship of choice as i always *loved* how it looks. |

You do know CCP nerfed NPC tracking disruption recently?
I use a Nightmare on one of my pilots. It's shield tanked but you will also need laser skills. I'm not sure if you want to spend the time training that. TD isn't an issue except for The Blockade since most NPC's are long dead before they even think of using a TD.
You mentioned your Machariel shield tank was "stable". I hope you don't mean cap stable. If so that could be part of your problem since you probably weren't doing enough DPS to kill the NPC's before they started TD you.
All this is variable because it would depend on your skills...

If your tracking skills are any good you should have no problem shooting them with guns. If I can manage it in a Nightmare with no maneuverability at all, then you should have no trouble in a Machariel. |

Yes, i had The Blockade in mind, was very painfull to finish it in amarr space due to TD issue. My Mach's optimal/falloff and tracking were brought to very low numbers. And i have nearly maxed gunnery skills. I use to engage enemies between 65-20km and with all those tracking disruption i had to close at 11km to rats to even have chance to hit them, very annoying.
And no, im not talking about cap stability or permatank. My Machs loadout (i had EM/Thermal hardeners):

I haven't tried the blockade in a Machariel but I have done it in a Nightmare pre NPC TD nerf and it was a PITA. I use my Navy Dominix for that mission. That was the only mission I've had issues with TD so I didn't see a need to change my main ship just for that one.
On my pilot that flies the Machariel I got tired of all the flying around so he now flies a Navy Raven (Yes I'm lazy!). It's is nice, you can pick your damage types and currently unaffected by TD. It does take a little longer to complete missions so if you're all about the ISK per hour it might not be for you. It requires no movement so that can be a good or bad thing depending on you. It can get boring I guess. |

I know it's not a Machariel or a Nightmare, but a Maelstrom with a 3-gyro, 2-TE fit, shooting 1400mm artillery EMP rounds, can get a +1 falloff of over 100km - and I don't think Sanshas can land TD cycles past about 85, from all reports. Use AB, MWD, or MJD to get outside their TD range but within your falloff, then alpha the fbeepers.
When I was in null, we had people who liked to use the Maelstrom against Sansha anomalies, largely because of its range and brick-smokehouse tanking abilities. "Nevertheless a prince ought to inspire fear in such a way that, if he does not win love, he avoids hatred..." - Niccolo Machiavelli-á |

Arty Mael works nicely. Allows you to engage from far enough out to mitigate most ewar and damage. Split guns into 2 groups, you can half volley frigs in the 40-70 km range.
I run sansha anoms with this daily.....
High power 8x 1400mm 'Scout' Artillery I
Medium power 1x Pith C-Type X-Large Shield Booster 1x Gist B-Type Shield Boost Amplifier 1x 100MN Afterburner II 2x EM Ward Field II 1x Thermic Dissipation Field II
Low power 2x Tracking Enhancer II 3x Gyrostabilizer II Rig Slot 2x Large Core Defense Capacitor Safeguard I 1x Large Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Charges 1,332x EMP L
Aside from those times I get 8-12 battleships chasing me at once, it's way over tanked. If I handle things properly, I've run hidden/forsaken rally points rarely touching my booster. |

Only problem with the phoon change is they are dropping the drone bandwidth by 25, so you will not be able to field 5 sentries. It is odd as the geddon is undergoing similar changes but it keeps its drone bandwidth..

My drone skills ale quite basic - Hobs_II, thats all so i won't miss huge drone bay in Phoon, but i understand many ppl will. Especially that Phonn was very skill intensive, ppl maybe annoyed, but well.. as someone wrote it earlier - Eve is game of continous changes.
I like mobile ships anyway, sitting in place and shoting isnt my prefered style. Heck, i even have MWD Mael (to dictate range and shoot from @100km).

Wouldn't call the changes similar. Phoon is going from all-the-systems to being missile-focused, the geddon is going drone-focused (+ cap warfare). Reducing the geddon's drone bandwidth just as it was given a drone damage bonus wouldn't have made much sense. |

Confirming that Blockade is still a major Pita. I got a friend calling me in the middle of the day to ask for help with it, as he couldn't hit stuff thanks to perma TD from 3-7 ships.
I would recommend missiles. |

TD coming to missiles soon^tm. By the time you've trained missiles when summer starts, td will affect them too.
That leaves the droneboats, which already got their nerf and is a pain to fly now. Bummer. Standings Improvement Service https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=19454 |

As others have said, you don't need to switch to any other ships. Mach is totally fine, just switch 800mm with 1400mm arty and fit MJD+ sebo. and you will be fine.

Nah.. i just don't like Machs with artillery. It just dont fit - its desecration of a holiness :) Mach is supposed to bring ACs :) But.. I will try my MJD arty Mael.. it has 180km targeting range, 50km optimal and 70km falloff with emp/plasma and over 600dps. With Sabot even better range. I'll try that, when training up for new Typhoon. |
