Edited by: Ayanami Nova on 17/09/2005 14:57:03 Im looking for a friendly and exciting group of people who like to stomp on other peoples heads.
I played this game when it first came out but got bored after about 9 months due to lack of content and quit, i have been back now for about 3 weeks with a new character and have around 750k skill points (all combat related, no mining, industry etc). At the moment i am traiining towards inty skills so my role in the corp would most likely be as either a tackling frigate or a support cruiser until i am better trained. I am trained up in sensor dampening and tracking disrupting which compliments my role as support.
Ok, thats the main gist of it - here's the bit which is giving me a headache. I am female which has caused various problems with previous corp/gang members. Firstly everyone wants me to actually prove that i am female....im not sure why this actually matters but it is normally sorted if the corp uses teamspeak. Second i get things ranging from people asking for advice on women thought to people asking for cybersex. This is not gonna happen, im here to play a game. Finally people start to act like *******s and come up with crap like "i dont trust women" or the latest classic " i play this game to get away from my girlfriend so i dont want to deal with women while i play". As you can see the treatment i am getting is going from idiotic to borderline sex discrimination.
I have teamspeak but prefer not to use it as i feel it ruins the roleplay element of the game. I can appreciate the need to use it in large battles so this is pretty much the only time i will use it.
I am based in the UK and usually play 3-5 nights a week.
If there is a corp that can meet my requirements and come to terms with the social dreadnought that is a female playing this game then please get in touch. i am ideally looking for a smaller corp that i can be an active part of as opposed to some huge faceless corp.
Im sure that there is the right corp out there for me somewhere! i just want to play and have fun !!!
Either post a reply or contact me ingame.

Edited by: Kunming on 17/09/2005 18:07:24 Adeptus Gattacus is not a strictly PvP corp, but we are a close family valuing teamwork over anything else, and try to give the full EVE experience to our members. We have strong industrial & pvp divisions and give the needed training to our newer members. Currently at war with Stain Alliance and have limited 0.0 access.
About the discrimination stuff, we have also other female players and they feel pretty confortable in the corp. We are adult players mostly in their mid 20s and 30s, our youngest player is 17-y-o and oldest over 50 (he doesnt log on very often though).
International corp with euro majority. Contact me in-game or visit our forums via the Adeptus Gattacus website.
Note: Usually I dont do this kind of stuff but our personal director is on vacation atm.
Edit: I forgot to add, if your pvping teamspeak is a must, sorry there is no way around it.

The reason i mention all this now is so that i do not get any of the problems i have previously experienced should my gender be revealed. Honestly you wouldnt believe some of the ****head comments i get so what im basically saying is...
"Is there anyone who is adult enough for gender not to be an issue looking for a decent player to join their PVP corp ?"
If so then look me up.

Hello Ayanami,
Ok, I am not going to lie to you. I often use pet names (dear, baby, M'Lady, etc). Some call it Southern Charm, others call it sexist pandering. I call it being friendly. Other than that, we would treat you with the same respect and comraderie of any other member. We had a TS server before Hurricane Katrina and I hope to get it back up ASAP for those who like using it (it does make commanding in combat situations much easier) but it has nvr been a requirement. Please click the links below and see if our corp may be what you are looking for.

On the other hand please do not send me any messages (of which there have been many) in the following format.
Example
KONGG: Is Recruiting TeamPlayers *TeamSpeak *Industry Oriented pilots *Miner's *Barge Pilots *Join Chanl KONGG: Or PM... www.kongglomerate.com
READ MY ORIGINAL POST !!! I have already stated that i am looking for a PVP corp, i have no interest in industry or mining barges except blowing them up.
Also please dont send me a generic "if your looking for a corp then convo me ingame". I am getting lots of them and they dont sell your corp in any way, please try and include at least some details of what your corp does and what you can offer.
i will contact everyone who has messaged me in the next 24 hours, again much thanks !
Just to clear up the TeamSpeak thing - i have TS and will use it for nessacary situations like combat but i will not use it on a daily basis for the following reasons.
1. It ruins the roleplay side of the game. 2. If want a conversation i will phone one of my friends, if i want to play a game i turn on the computer. 3. It gets on my ****.
I will use it when nessacary, not daily. I hope that is clear enough.
Also please dont think i am some feminist, man-hating, bull-dyke who explodes at the suggestion that women are different than men, this is not my problem. My problem is more from people acting like *******s and then using the fact that i am a girl to justify it. 99% percent of my previous corp members will vouch for me as being a happy , helpful member of the team (references available upon request). Unfortunatley it only takes 1 or 2 idiots to ruin a good thing.
Keep the messages coming !

You mentioned that you grew bored due to lack of content and then you mention that all you wish to do is PvP.
Well ok. It just seems that you give yourself very little room to manoeuvre.
We, at P.P.L, are recruiting. Maybe our structure will keep you interested beyond the PvP element.
Probably not. But hey, you can't blame a chap for trying...

Whats the connection here ? i dont see it.
In the first few months of the game it was a race to get the biggest ship. once you had a cruiser, frigates where redundant - battleships made cruisers redundant etc. Now things seem to have balanced out more so that frigates still have a purpose in fleet battles, especiallt now with things like inty's, af's, stealth etc. This is why i have returned to the game, there is more content for doing PVP.

QuiAv is a new merc corp with a "good guy" slant. We are mainly looking for people with PVP experience and new players with a PVP interest. Our Headquarters are in Sobaseki. We have Ethnic Relations skills currently at level 3, so one need not be Caldari to apply. We do require referrences which will be checked before hiring, as well as a in-game convo interview with the CEO.
We are very selective about the types of contracts we accept, so when not at war some time will be spent running missions, raiding npc complexes, and inter-corp skirmishes for training purposes. In these training skirmishes, there is no podding allowed and any ships and mods that are destroyed will be replaced by the corp. There will also be plenty of time where you will be allowed to freelance, so long as your activities do not conflict with the core values of the corp. For example, no belt PRats or ransomers need apply.
This Corp does tax any NPC kills you make if the bounty is higher than 35,500 ISK, and any mission cash rewards over the amount of 35.5K ISK at a rate of 10%. This is to help fund the supplies the corp provides you with. The corp also gives each member 6 station containers for storing personal items and 5% of the corp's weekly profit.
We are also accepting applications from non-combatant support personel such as miners, couriers, manufacturers, and traders.
For more information evemail or convo TjanitN Tcroxlr (char search "tjani") in-game.
Industrial applicants may also convo or evemail Snhoj Combat applicants may also convo or evemail Waadde
To apply, visit Sobaseki viii - Moon 1 - Home Guard Assembly Plant
All applications MUST include: - The names of 3 referrences (convo or evemail for details as to what qualifies as a referrence)
- The best ship you can now operate
- The ship you most often operate
- your preferred military status (Player versus Player {PVP}, Player versus Non-Player Characters {PVE}, Non-combatant {NoV}, or undecided/no preferrence {NPref}

Well I can quite understand the urge to wanna pvp and nothing else. (its generally what I do anyhow) In Jericho Fraction its a wide player mix with lots of people doing different things but nobody forcing you to do things you don't like. And our roleplay angle ensures we're always shooting somebody anyhow. If you want to mix roleplaying a freespace revolutionary with shooting badguys in 0.0 we're probably a pretty good choice.

Yup.. I gotta agree. I'm reading a lot "I want this" "Don't send me that". You seem quite demanding. You're always going to run into a nuckhead or two. This is the internet after all. If you can't handle that, than don't come on TS or get a program that alters your voice.
Good like finding a corp.

hmmm, interesting idea.
Alternatively why dont i post a thread in the forum stating who i am, what i want and not waste mine and a load of other peoples time by joining a corp which might not be right for me.
Yup, i think my idea is much better.
Isnt this a recruitment forum ? Am i not entitled to state my requirements ? Yes i am !!!

I dont agree with the troll posts above. Sometimes it is important to mention you're a female player, because some corps sometimes have young men in it who like to spam the channel with sexist jokes. And not many girls are comfortable with that.
I started a somewhat similar thread awhile back, and I did not receive any flames. I wonder why? Must have been the effect of certain Sniggles hijacking it.

some corps have an age limitation (say 18+ only). I suggest you look for those instead of makin up bullcrap about men being filthy animals.

Dont you find this fundamentaly wrong? Even a little bit? If you want fair treatment DO NOT POSE AS BEING SPECIAL. ask yourself if you like playing the game
if you do, then close this thred, look on recruitments sectiion, when u find a corp taht you like, apply
i very much think that the corps u say u have been in are rare, i dont think normally ppl would make a big deal out of being a guy or girl.
you will always get the odd joke arising from it, but if u played football and was the only woman on the team you would get the same thing and im sure this works teh same way, if a guy played a girly sport he would get hte odd joke about it here and there
just dont make a big deal out of it
oh guy posting jsut before me, he is totally correct

Out of a womans point of view, you are acting like a feminist sorry to say. If you join a corp or whatever and you get harrassed and cant deal with it either petition them or you have a nice button called block. I will not promote my corp here cause if you cant handle the jokes or the sillyness of men no point in being in a corp or alliance since majority is male then you better stay on your own, there will always be men that think there intresting and gonna score its in real life aswell as in a game.
Only advice i can give you dunno if that corp still exists but a few months back i came across a corp that had only females in it no men where alloud maybe try to find such thing. And yes you can state your opinion or what you desire but yelling your a female and then all those demands gets you flaming, this has nothing to do with roleplay tho
If you really still looking for a corp i can recommend E-R or Black Lance (oh my god :p ) their good peeps the ones i know and with them you get pvp garantueed.
