The original term 'Nerf' refers to foam-based weaponry and sports equipment that was designed & modified to be safer to use and prevent injury.
'Nerfing' hisec or wars applies, as it refers to making it safer for carebears, an appropriate use of the term. How exactly do 'carebears get nerfed too' ? You aren't seriously suggesting a mis-use of the 'nerf' term applies to reduced carebear activity payouts like mining yields or incursion payouts do you, for safety is not affected...
Regardless of how many others mis-use the term to mean 'reduce', 'nerf' isnt appropriately applied that way; it means to make safer. http://evedarklord.blogspot.ca |

You are again quoting "Nerfing" as the word of choice but then describing "Nerfing Highsec and Wars."
nerfed Web definitions In video gaming a nerf is a change to a game that reduces the desirability or effectiveness of a particular game element. The term is... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nerfed
I can quote the internet too.
You'll notice that "safer" isn't anywhere in the gaming definition of "nerfed" I'm Denzel Washington. |

There is an answer...
RED VS BLUE!
Just imagine... No more frustrated corp members... No more taking it in the can every release from null leaders without your voice being heard... No more thinking 'nullsec is great and all, but it would nice to blap a few hundred players in hisec'...
Just constant solo and small gang PVP, with the occasional Ganked roam thrown in for fun. Join up today and ignore this idiot OP who thinks wardeccing a carebear corp will work when they will just dock up and hide for as long as you keep paying the fee. |

So let me get this straight: in order to convince CCP to stop nerfing hisec & making life easier for carebears, you want to deliberately induce as much whining and complaining from carebears as possible, which will have the inevitable outcome of CCP revisiting wardecs to reduce the capacity for dec-griefing?

Most of us made transition from carebear to pvp via desensitization. i.e. **** happens->initial ouchie->ouchie wasnt so bad->I want to give ouchies. My theory is that if fear of pvp is removed through desensitization, there will be fewer complaints; basically extending the newly implemented training mission that requires people to lose a ship and pod.... http://evedarklord.blogspot.ca |

Population density wise there are far more people in hisec, with more probability of getting a blingy pinata kill. Why do you rob banks? Because thats where the money is...
Additionally, existing carebear cries for nerfdom (and CCP's bending over to satisfy them) typically do not negatively impact nullsec play. (i.e. crimewatch, exhumer buff, increased wardec costs & unlimited allies, etc)

Allow me to give an example from one of my own wardecs, which I will then set into contrast with non-highsec combat. Last year, I went to war against a highsec mining corporation called Tri Star Productions. There was only one battle in the war, and it lasted approximately four minutes. This was the result: Three dead Mackinaws, a dead Orca, and all four pilots podded GÇö each with expensive implants. The damage inflicted was more than 6 billion ISK, or 8 billion going by today's prices. All of it was done solo. One player, one character. What is the equivalent in nullsec PvP? In terms of ISK, this would be the like someone solo'ing several carriers simultaneously." Not the point; point is they are changing the game from its foundational model of risk and HTFU , to a risk-free theme park by crying to CCP to constantly nerf hisec. In response, I am advocating DEC-AGEDDON as a way to desensitize them to their pvp fears, educate them and remove said whining and changes that are ultimately bad for the game and all of us in the long term. http://evedarklord.blogspot.ca |

Quite the contrary, and I actually would like the ability to wardec NPC corps; carebears should not be able to hide under the protection of NPC corps forever, while waging internet forum warfare for nerfing wardecs and CCP bubble-wrapping their exhumers... Ha ha.... Try and get me....

There is a difference between being interested in PvP but lacking the skills to compete, versus being interested in industry, and lacking PvP skills. You don't get someone interested in PvP by imposing PvP upon them. If they're not interested in PvP and you keep imposing PvP on them, you will simply drive them from the game.
Your failure to correctly identify your original motives has led to an incorrect theory of the progress from new player into PvP maven.
EVE Online is more than just pew pew with spaceships. It is also about industry, commerce and politics. I know pew-pew-spaceships folks who intensely dislike the politics side of the game. I know players who happily engage in politics and industry but intensely dislike the pew pew side of the game.
Your failure to acknowledge the multifaceted nature of this virtual world has led to an incorrect theory on how to encourage more people to participate in the play style that you prefer.
Sometimes you need stick, more often than not you can get by with carrot.

Here is a list of possible outcomes when you wardec a carebear corp in hisec, pick the incorrect one:
- They dock up
- They stop logging in
- They quit the game
- They HTFU and learn to PvP by losing lots of ships at your caring hands
View the corpus of carebears as a collection from which to entice some PvP-curious pilots to join you in your antics. Rather than declaring war on them and blowing them up, invite them to join you in your escapades. Start off with minimal cost fleets such as T1 rifters, then as their confidence is built encourage them to ship up to destroyers and cruisers.
You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

You have incorrectly extrapolated there. I am not trying to get carebears interested in pvp, I am just trying to get them to stop whining and subsequently causing nerfs.
They need never fit a blaster and go pew, they just need to accept their decision not to tank their ships properly (or defend themselves actively) has implications, that is -- they can be pewed in hisec and thats normal eve life, not something to continuously beotch and moan and lobby against. http://evedarklord.blogspot.ca |

EvE didn't used to be about a honeyed hisec theme park, it used to be based on vinegar. And again, I am NOT trying to convince carebears to pew, I am just trying to shift the mindset to one of 'if I don't tank properly, or actively defend myself, I might die in hisec and thats NORMAL' -- not something to constantly ***** about and lobby against.
