Ok, i am still new (3 mil sp pilot) and i am a caldari pilot, i use a raven for pvp (vs angels). I ca do 10 mil a day rattin for 3 hours (considering only the rewards) so i think i can manage to use a cruise ship for pvp, w/o worry too mutch for the eventual lost. My idea is to fit a moa for pvp (vs frig, cruis,af). I tought abt makin a similar setup used by trax pilots, 4 SMALL Neutron named or tec2 and 2 assault launchers named, 1 medbooster t2 1 MWD 1 scrambler 2points 1 active hard (em? therm? Invuln?) 2pdu 2magfieldstab 5 small drones.
Plz tell me what u think and how would u fit this ship for occasional pvp figts!
tnx

it will die, do reason the rax gets away with small guns is the fact it can mount a 1600mm plate, for a good moa anti AF ship do this
4x ion blasters (med) 1x med nos 1x SB/another nos
MID 1x 10mn MWD 2x Stasis webs 1x 7.5/20k warpp scrambler
low
small/med armour rep if it can fit resists/RCU etc/damge mods if you can fit em

but with small blasters i will be able to mount a Large shield boost t2, 1 warp disruptor, 1 web, 1 invul field, and in low i will mount 4 pdus or 3 pdu and 1 cap power relay. and 2 assault launchers, or 2 nos if the dmg of 4 blasters tec2 is enough....
or not?

4 150 IIs, 2 rocket launchers or small nos mwd, web, scrambler, tracking disruptor 1600 plate, small rep II, mag stab IIs.
Posted by Sorja 4 x heavy electron blasters 1 x assault launcher 1 x standard launcher
1 x MWD 1 x Scrambler 1 x Webber 1 x Tracking disruptor
1 x 800mm plate 1 x medium armor rep 1 x kinetic armor hardener 1 x Mag stab (the only thing that needs to be Tech II)
both are good, make sure you don't run into a thorax or a maller.. Maller will nos you to death. Thorax will eat you alive with drones.

All great posts but if you are after plated (1600) Thoraxs and Mallers there is one set-up that powns them:
4x250 protos(less fitting)2xStandard launchers (or rockets if you have very good missle flight time velocity bonus) MWD, 90% web, 20km scram, 1xtracking disr (for range & for accuracy) -for Rax- or 1xEM Anointed -for Maller- 1xMed rep 1xNano or 400 Nanoplate 2x Mag stab IIs
you can keep them at 12-18 all day being faster and more agile and without wcs they cant warp out \o/. 4x250s with antimmatter are more than enough to kill rax or maller with help from 2xstand or rockets with explosive or thermal ... given time :)
Caveat: good navigation skills needed AND does not perform well in fleet combat you ll be instapop for the BSs AND remember to use the rockets and your lights on the Rax's Heavys (he might not even deploy until very late because rac pilots expect to approach fast web scram and then deploy to get the slow heavy drones on target with MWD. If he does deploy and is chasing you you can ignore as they wont reach you in time. If he deploys and tries to run from you THEN you have to chase to keep him within 20km and so u can use the launchers on the drones then you / you can also quickly kill heavy drones with 250s ifthey are over 10km away and you fit tracking com nstead of tracking disrupt. I wouldnt advocate activation the web on drones you need it to keep the rax away if you misjudge distance and he turns on you]
[I haven't had a chance to test recently but for against corp m8s cause when I fly cruisers I am trying to enjoy the last days of the mighty Rax ]

Self-proclaimer Thorax/maller Eating machine when you didn't even 'GET' to test it? lol, that's crap ;)

"you can keep them at 12-18 all day being faster and more agile and without wcs they cant warp out \o/"
Then they just stop, forcing you to slow down to keep them in scrambling range, then send the heavy drones after you which, due to your now slower speed in orbit, have no problem popping the Moa.
For extra points he can also try to pull you closer to the drones, making their work even easier...
(Maller can have more problems to reach Moa at that range, but with single medium repairer or 400mm plate Moa won't last long...)
"If he deploys and tries to run from you THEN you have to chase to keep him within 20km and so u can use the launchers on the drones then you / you can also quickly kill heavy drones with 250s ifthey are over 10km away and you fit tracking com nstead of tracking disrupt."
If he deploys and starts moving away, he'll effectively kite you into drones attack range before you even get the lock on them, much less do any kind of damage to the drones...

Lol I did say I tried it in mock combat and at least I was being honest. Also it was a lighthearted comment and if you are teh uber and serious all the time its your problem LOLZ. As for me I really enjoy against the current set up ideas and sharing them even without proper testing. I think its ok as long as I admit this :P :P :P to you!
[If you feel testing is necessary bring a standard (no EW fanzy panzy pls) plate maller/thorax and we can test it properly. Seeing as you are "the best there is" as you often say AND you have advance notice of setup and tactics if my noob skills can beat or even put to structure your cruiser then we will agree the set up works wonders yes? -I ll pretend I didnt even see you fit 3xhardeners: thermal, kinetic, explosive, mkay?]
@ J0sephine: yes possibly BUT then: (a) It might be too late for him anyway by then (b) if drones are hitting too hard you can leg it (c) soon it will be half the drones (d) to kite me in he will hav to have deployed at range thus giving me time to auto lock them which is always a good thing :)
despite the above 4 points what you say still sounds right to me .

250's don't track very well, i've tried that basic setup and found that 200's work better or 150 tech 2's

Pretty good anti frig setup: 4*250mm rails 2*whatever launchers you can fit 2*Sensor boosters 2*Tracking comps 4*Damage mods
Optimal around 100km with Iron and good skills and guns.

hi well i just got my moa the now, im very new to the game, 300k skill points, i have seen alot of setups for this ship having 4 x 250mm rails, i however bought four 250 scout rails, but i run out of power and can only have 3 online this is without having any other items fitted in any slots. i dont know why this is, i know you can get parts to improve the power but the setups i have seen dont have them, is there skils i need to be able to use the four and improve my power?

Yes, the Engineering skill improves powergrid for all your ships and the Electronics skill improves CPU for all your ships. Combat heavy pilots will need them at level 5 each to get the most juice out of their rigs.
