Can anyone explain to me this discrepancy in EHP? I'm stumped.
Ship: Harbinger Lows: DCU II, 1600mm Tungsten, EANM II x2, Heat Sink II x2
With my skills I have 17.5k armor 75/67/62/60 resists
According to my fitting tool AND the test server Singularity (same skills, same fit, no added modification implants) I end up with 75k EHP with DCU activated.
On TQ that number is 62k.
Why the discrepancy? I tried switch out some modules to see what was happening but there is 0 differences in skills or fits. |

EFT averages the resists; EvE uses lowest. |

Worth noting that it uses the lowest in each class, giving you the absolute worst case scenario EHP. BYDI (Shadow cartel) Recruitment open!

when you say fitting tool: do you mean eft/pyfa or the ingame fitting screen?
Doesn't make sense otherwise why would singularity be different? |

As the other 2 posters said, EvE fitting window calculates EHP using the lowest resist for shield/armor/hull while in fitting programs like EFT and Pyfa the default is 25% for each type of damage (or omnitank), if you want to check you can change your fitting program to reflect your EHP on your lowest resist and compare that. |

Okay, so lets say you have 1000 shield, armor and hull raw HP.
Your resistances are 0, 50, 50, 50 - EM, thermal, kinetic, explosive respectively. Goes on to armor, 50, 50, 50, 50, and all hull 0%.
Ingame eve, it will calculate EHP as 0 + lowest shield EHP = 1000. 1000 + lowest armor ehp (2000) = 3000. 3000 + 1000 hull hp = a total of 4000 ingame EHP.
A fitting tool(EFT, pyfa) will average it, 25% damage in each type, but you can set specific figures. You will still not get the same as in game though.
Lets say you set the damage profile to thermal.
50% resist in shield = 2000. 50% armor = 2000. 0% hull = 1000.
EFT EHP = 5000 EHP, 1000 more than in game.
I used round resistance because screw % maths, but I think I got the point across |

Thanks for all the responses, however lets throw EFT aside for a moment, it was just for reference.
The problem I'm still encountering is my EHP is different between TQ and Singularity Test server, however there are no differences in my fits, skills, implants or docked/undocked status.
Both tests I've done have been undocked with damage control activated. But for some reason there's a 10k EHP difference between live server and test.
Both ships are rigged with trimarks as well, and in neither case am I in a fleet being boosted. |

Well, perhaps they are changing the in game EHP calculation to match the one that fitting tools use.
That aside, however:
Are your base HP amounts the same? Are your resists the same?
If so, then this problem is #1 in things-that-don't-matter. Your actual, experienced EHP will be identical, regardless of whether the game gives you a pessimistic estimate or an averaged one. |

Thanks for the response, armor HP and resistances are identical. Must be a calculation change of some sort, I won't worry myself about it too much.

I imagine you're using Shield hardeners. The passive resists granted by Shield Hardeners and Invulns are being removed.
Alternatively, your compensation skills could be different. Test servers mirrors can be several months out of date. |

But my best guess is there must be something that's changed on the test server that you aren't accounting for on the live server or can't because its a change in over-all mechanics or an unannounced change (beware of CCP ninjas). |
