A Government run by players. Why not. It seems that concord isnt up to the job. So why dont players do this. It would all have to center around loyalty to the leader but it could be fun. |

It would also have to have funding. And where do governments get funding? Taxes. And who takes taxes? Pirates who guard gates. Thus, your institution becomes what is trying to guard against. Goooooo Eve! --------------- I used to be in the FA. I like cookies. Eve Radio is teh pwn. |

This game is too young for people to ascend from anarchy.
Give it a few years and perhaps this will change.

the other thing you're forgetting is that if anyone in this new government had to take action against anyone for whatever reason CONCORD would come down on them just like they do now. i do think this would be a cool thing to have in game, but it would require some major changes to the way it works right now. ______________

I've been toying around with a half formed suggestion idea for this for a while. Basically it involves government a little like Civilisation, where you choose a certain type of government and get different bonusses and penalties based on your choice (such as Democracy being great for economics but very hard to go to war with...).
This would tie in with different methods of elections in each of the empires, on a 4 weekly cycle with 1 empire election each week. Each player account gets 1 vote per month which they can use in any election where they have a character of tht race.
The Gallente would perhaps have elections with an 'influence' modifier based on your faction rating perhaps, the Amarr could have an election with a modifier based on the net worth of a character at a certain point in a week, which might not change the emperor, but could change his policies for a while through lobying. Unfortunately I haven't quite figured out how the Minmatar and Caldari systems could work. (suggestions appreciated).
Possible changes that you could have in the system would perhaps include things like inceased taxes on weapons trading, tighter security in that empire's space, etc etc.
