With the impending permanent downtime of eve-kills.com approaching (october 10th, so im told.), Geoff W has been kind enough to work his little socks off and build an all new, soon to be public KillBoard which we hope will be everything Eve-Kills is/was.
at the present moment its up, working and being tested by us in kr0m and really only the true test will come when its released and put under pressure, but until we decide to release it (most probably friday 23rd) we will be keeping it private. and thusly ive blanked out the adress from the screenshots that follow. pretty much ALL the work was done by Geoff, and i did that little "join kr0m" banner cos the one Trevedian provided had too much genetalia on to be shown on a public killboard. ( shame  ) We're just waiting to get the impending bandwidth issues sorted out, and possibly a proper domain and everything related blah blah.
A few things are to be noted about this killboard. its solely designed to be viewed in Mozilla Firefox. it does work in Internet Explorer but it suffers and looks exceedingly screwy. Also, it curently has a fair handful of bugs around, most of which are minor and currntly being fixed now and will be ironed out before public release, but as with everything new there will be some bugs we havent noticed and if you do find anything, report it so Geoff can fix it.
Currently there is no Points system, but there will be. It comes last as its just a case of adding a tiny bit of code and defining every ship a point value. but as its not essential it will be left out for a couple of days or whatever.
And the screenshots... these are of my desktop using Firefox, in desktop resolution 1600x1280.

Some EvE related colours and stuff would be nice....looks like some hippie flower power killboard still. Nice work though g-of

anyways really kewl... but shame its made for firefox as 70%of people still use IE...

that very colour blue, and very flower logo was found on the left asscheek of an angel itself. whilst it sang the "use the colour on my ass to make your killboard, geoff" whilst plucking and twanging a heavenly accompanying tune on his golden harp, made from the remnants of spRAYeds destroyed capsule.
so stfu is leet.
oh and also, this is maybe a lesson for everyone to go get firefox, cos IE is for chumps, and attracts more spyware and popups than whiskey attracts "vagrants"

The killboard does work in IE, it juts looks shocking!.
Theres still quite a few features to be added to it, so what you see now is only work in progress.
If I get some free time I will have a look the design to try and get it to work better in IE.

just to clarify, THIS is what the killboard looks like in Internet Explorer. compare it agains the one i took in IE.
OH, P.S. i forgot to mention this killboard will NOT work on pre-EXODUS kill mails. to stop all you nublers spamming it with your old killmails to looks the lizzeet. if you try to add one, it just wont have any of it.

its called Energy Blue, its an official Microsoft theme, its only supposed to work on TabletPC version, but you just have to extract the setup exe and pick the .msstyle file to use it.

I never use killboards because it gives far too much information away about the person posting the killmail. Leaving intelligence out about what ship I am flying and what modules I used would be a wonderful option. Perhaps a simple checkbox that says "Hide Self info [ ]" could simply disable parsing the information of the attacking ship and the modules to take down the kill or perhaps literally hide the info from everyone but the account belonging to the killer.
I don't mind keeping a record of my kills and showing who has fallen under my guns, but I do mind showing my guns.

its just "FooB" , and the theme is called "Energy Blue". and its really just a modified version of the normal XP skin optimised for 1600x1280. and the banner is 100% true. and ive just been PVPing.

Any smart player that goes to war, seeks to hunt down a specific pilot, or wants to defend specifically against the known tactics of a player will use all resources avalaible to gather intelligence of what to expect based on history. This is found by using http://www.google.com, killboards, and searching the forums.
The wiser pilots seek out intelligence to gain the upper hand. Those not so wise end up being the victims of that intelligence.

btw, id like to point out that we will be hosting competitions. none of which im going to name yet but its very possible you win ISK for doing certain stuff. we just havent decided what stuff that is yet.

Stay with the blue stuff, like it alot. Your branding so to speak. There's enough CCP and EVE stuff in the icons used for ship classes killed.

However, be careful with the "Firefox ftw" stuff as I suspect that if FF was the browser with teh market share, it'd be the one with the most 'sploits. Of course, there are other factors involved but there has been a definite increase in alerts since FF got so much more popular.

well er, i guess eve kills went down today, a little earlier than expected so we'll get this board up as soon as we can. we have our Domain sorted now, its just a simple case of adding one little function more then testing it. fingers crossed ey
