Hi Guy's....I am interested in your thoughts about the best combat fit-out for my MOA??? - Alot of what is written below talks about drones vs torps/miss etc, but my question is:
6 High slots: 4 Med slots: 4 Low slots:
Skills aside, what are the must have for these????

Hi all,
I would like to add the question if the MWD, bec. of the loss of shield-power (50%), is useful or just dangerous. I somehow hesitate to use it... though its great to travel at 700% speed.

Death Shadow, if you want to fully use the med slots then go projectile weapons and some torpedo launcher to save power for eg shield booster. I dont use moa myself so... Rhombus, only use MWD when traveling. __________________________________________________________ |

A MWD is GREAT when fighting NPCs. I would have lost 2 cruisers without it due to stupid warp ins, I haven't lost a single ship. PvP is another thing...
Must have: Shieldbooster. For NPCs I'd say MWD. Also, 1/2 tactical shield(s). Here's my setup (doesn't matter if I give it away, bye bye cruiser): 4x250mm gauss 2xEmpty slots (missiles are a waste vs. NPCs) -- 1xMedium C5-L Shieldbooster (the best) 1xKinetic tactical shield (protects vs. hybrids and serpentis chief defender missiles) 1xQuad LiF MWD (840%?) 1xCap recharger (10%) -- 3xReactor Control Unit I (total grid w/ engineering 4: 1197) 1xMark II Cap power relay (20% rechargerate)
Works GREAT vs NPCs. I can fire those gausses forever, I never recharge my cap. Even when using the shieldbooster now and then, same with the MWD (54 cap/click). |

1x 10% powergrid upgrade 2x 20% cap recharge bonus 1x tracking enhancer
good vs npc but think will be poor pvp

Thx 2 all,
very interesting ideas. I always thought it might be useful to take at least some missiles along - what a trip to Serpents Coil last night has proven wrong... only had my rails in action.
A question about the gausses - I haven't had the money for those via the trade channel: Do they need ammo as the hybrids and if so, which is best-practice?
In regard to PVP-Conflicts (or esp. to be safe in my trade-runs) I think about fitting torpedos or cruise missile (what's better?)... and some prototype gausses as well.
By energy and shield-reasons I'd not install the MWD. Would you agree on keeping the Kinetic Tactical Shield? What else would you install in the mid-slots (keeping the lows for CPU or energy upgrades)? Any electronic warfare stuff?

Well, this is what i've got on my MOA right now: Hi: 1x250mm Rail 2xHeavy Neutron Blaster 1xHeavy Electron Blaster 2xStandard Missle Bay (1x Defenders 1x Heavies)
1xAfter Burner 1xMed Shield Booster 1xHeat Field 1xKinetic Deflection Field
2xTracking Booster 2xMagnetic Field
This is workig out reasonably well. However,.... I recently switched to Hybrid (to take advantage of the ship-bonus) but with 2x650mm and 2x425mm projectiles I used to do MUCH more damage (yes, both skills are at the same level...). But perhaps I haven't properly adjusted my tactics to hybrids yet )
Hope this gives some inspiration...

For NPC's I like to get up close and personal.
4x Heavy Ion Blasters 1x small "nodos" or "shockwave" SB 1x M-12 w/Scourges (optional depending on my grid usaged)
1x Medium Clarity Ward 2x Shield Hardners (depends on the NPC which comination I use) 1x Baron Cap Recharger
2x Basic Magnetic field stablizer 1x Beta Node tracking enhancer 1x Type D Control Unit
I use AM, it's a very short range setup. But it does plenty of damage and has plenty of defense. ------------------------------------- Interm-CEO for EVE Marshals http://www.EVEMarshals.com |

what about Pvp? im more worried about gettin jumped by a player pirate than an npc. i hear moas are v good for elec. warfare. what would be good defense-wise such as things to stop my warps being jammed and what would be good if im hunting? also, i see no one uses lasers? whys that?

The moa gives bonus range on medium hybrids, so it makes sense to use that kind of weapon on it. The extra range that lasers give isnt needed even against 50k pirates as you can stand 24k away with uranium and kill them.
I use 3 afterburners and a medium shield booster, works perfectly. Gives you speed to outrun any npc pirate while maintaining the massive shield as well.
For PvP fight, you need medium or close range weapons, otherwise you will die very fast.

Greetings, Most folks do use hybrids in Moas. They are a good ship for using them. I personally like energy weapons. No setup is perfect, but i believe i have struck a balance with the use of my energy weapons. High Slots: 1 x Hvy Pulse 2 x Hvy Beam 2 x H-50 Missle Launcher (Flameburst, Sabortooth, Thunderbolt, Havoc, Widowmaker. Depending of advesary type.)
Medium Slot: 1 x Med Shield Boost 1 X Benefactor Ward Shield Recharger or Shield enhancer appropriate to adversary damage. 1 x Med Cap 1 x AB
Low Slot: 2 x Power Diagnostic 1 x Overdrive System 1 x Stabilizer or Armor plating appropriate to adversary damage.
As i said, not a perfect setup but it has worked well for me so far. My skills support my power and range needs to run my chosen weapons systems. Energy weapons burn alot of cap, i have compensated as much as possible. I haven't run out as of yet, with several long engagements.

Hmm...
a difficult question for me. Not to forget that this question is directly related to the ship classes and their possibilities.
I personally and in regard to my MOA do not believe in electronic warfare. In 1-on-1 situations I would always prefer max. damage and/or kick and run tactics (with missiles and MWD) against other players. So there's simply not enough energy or CPU left for such devices in my ship.
In respect to 2-on-2 situations or larger combat situation, electronic warfare might turn out as a real advantage and some Blackbirds could really be a needful support.

Max damage loadout against an EC blackbird, 1on1? Try it out if you want, but dont forget to insure your ship .

I think some people need to work on their math skills before posting what they would outfit a MoA like. Several of you folks have exceeded power and or CPU limits even with max skills.
My setup... it's a secret. But I will say this. I change it according to what I am fighting. You need very different equipment for battleship hunting than you do NPC rat hunting. So, there is no one size fiuts all best configuration for a MOA.
