Damn since you are on holiday,
nothing is working, no improvments, NO HOPE ...
It seems that I could only get LEVEL 3 Agents, with that mission ...
(sounds like this, already had it 3 times) ... if you could do this mission in just one hour, I will introduce you to some important member in our company ...
I made them always in 15 to 30 Minutes and was looking like a child a christmas to get that new AGENT ...
and what that %$&%$%&%$ of an Agent gave me the money but not the contact to the new one...
1.NO TIME BONUSES PAID FROM AGENT IT IS A BUG THAT NO, I REPEAT NOOOOOOO, TIMEBONUSES ARE PAID SINCE one month ...
2.NO VIPS IN CARGO FROM KIDNAPPER Also VIPS are missing when you kill the Kidnapper ...
Because of that I lost 3 new Contacts to Agents (Hyashoda) but didn't know which Level they would have had , as a Level 2 Agent promised me it would be a more important than him I think it would be level 3 Agents ...
I missed 3 Missions because of NO VIPS (even sometimes also other things didn't dropped from the spies etc. but this things I could bought at the market and handed them over to the agent and he accepted it)
PAPA SMURF kick your team somewhere in the backside :-) and let them fix it fast, best yesterday.
ANY CHANCE to get that 3 new contacts, because it was a bug and not me who spoiled it.
Anyway please start to look at this and WE NEED NEW MORE INTRESTING MISSIONS, with storyline and maybe even more things to do and at the end of that mission send somewhere to a 0.0 system to a hidden ship, location, asteroid to fight someone or collect something special and get something (NOT TOO GOOD) but a module, which not everyone has and you couldn't get from NPC Pirate LOOT or on the markets (black or normal)
Really it is getting boring, atm I am only logging in and looking if my agents have a mission, where I could get a new one.
Hope you had a nice holiday, but now work is waiting OR I FEAR you soon will not have any, if I look at the people who are online.
See you yours

Yep, we need PapaSmurf back.
BUT not all these bugs are even remotely his responsibility, as his last few posts before vacation suggested... they're down to the elusive content designers, who are obviously too busy working on research stations in Crielere to go back and fixed their past fubars. |

I too am looking forward to additional agent content and bug fixes. I seem to be stuck with only LVL 1 agents, after 31 completed missions. But I'm gonna keep flying them as an alternative to trade runs and mining. Let's hope CCP let's PapaSmurf work on these issues and doesn't redirect his efforts elsewhere.

31 missions?
Keep working. It took me a total of around 55-60 missions (12-13 for one, and then 44 for the high-rated L1 she referred me to) to get an agent upgrade. (L3, due to the distance limitation bug, no L1s or L2s left in the region.) i.e. if you get an upgraded agent in under 60ish missions you're lucky.

A Papa Smurf recently introduced himself on the Dragon Empires forums as their new quest designer.
For those who don't yet know, Dragon Empires just entered beta and has many EVE like features such as a persistent market and PvP at the character and guild level. The dragons are like Concord in EVE. Unlike EVE their severs will only allow approximately 2500 players at a time. Yet the guilds will run cities, build manufacturing improvements in them, and collect tax revenue from all manufacturing (guild and independent). Guilds will war for the control of cities which vary in economic and defense potential (30 characters per side per battle maximum). Traders subject to pirate attack will carry essential components between cities so the guild must work to keep the trade routes free. The same character can be a pirate in one empire and a lawfull citizen in another with the result that the border zones are designed to be wild.
So is this the same Papa Smurf who used to visit these forums?

He is one of CCP's developers and the main programmer coding the agent missions. To say that he just "used to visit these forums" is to imply that he's just a regular subscriber .
If I interpret your statements incorrectly, then I apologize.

You have interpreted my comments incorrectly so apology accepted.
I am well aware of who Papa Smurf is and I am also aware that he not not posted for over 3 weeks.

He hasn't posted as he went on holiday. I'm not sure how long for, but I'd assume at least 2 weeks and maybe a month.
I'm sure when he returns we'll begin seeing posts regarding agent missions etc.

When he announced it, it was for a month. (Maybe 5 weeks.)
In many European countries, and also Iceland, the minimum legal amount of vacation a company can offer in a year is either 4 or 5 weeks. In most cases, workers time the vacation to be at the same time. (My company just acquired a European company - They're ALL going on vacation for the entirety of August. Almost every single engineer.)
Most likely it'a a different Papa Smurf on that other game's forums. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

Anyway, it is now around 5 weeks ... and EVE is going down to the ground, in my opinion ... since three weeks I am only changing SKILLS because I am bored to death ... and I am waiting, and only because I could afford that 12 EURO for the monthly fee, but I hate to waste money ... and if it isn't changing soon ... I will have to leave, like many others who have been around ...

Dude, get a grip.
If I went on vacation, this is the last thing I'd want to come back to - some know-nothing pencil-**** *****ing and moaning about trivia. No one cares if you haven't the imagination to make something of EVE.
PapaSmurf - we miss you, but hope you had a groovy vacation. Stay chill.

Hiya guys'n'gals.
Sorry about the bugs, I'll take a look at them.
For the record: 1. I left the 27th of June, and came back on the 6th of August. 2. It is not legal to negotiate a contract in Iceland involving less than 24 actual work days of vacation per year, and most or all of that generally has to be taken during the summer months. Thus many companies grind to a halt during June through August. 3. I've not been spending my time on any other forums, and am not involved in any other company.
I do admit, it does sadden the heart to see such ill tidings (and quite often foul language) when you come back from vacation, but such is life. I fully understand it anyhow, as I can't say I find the current state of the agent system acceptable at all... but it's not much farther my little smurfs
I do expect that most of my time will be allocated to the agent system in the near future, but it's always hard to say, as there's alot of low level stuff I have to take care of as well, and when something breaks down in the bowels of EVE it can take quite alot of time to figure out.
Content is definitely not on my hands, and I am no less frustrated by lack of content in the agent system than you are. But I do see brighter days coming my little smurfs...

Glad you're back Papa Smurf. Now I feel a little better about my investments in my mission taking friends, I'm hoping they pay off in the future.

I just got a lev 3 save the princess mission and it was one unit of slaves not VIP's which were duly dropped by the NPC kidnappers. Is this a quick workaround put in place Papa Smurf? Made my day, so if this a recent kludge fix thanks!

Welcome back :)
Personally I wish devs in US got the same deal. Also personally I think it is much smarter to do the 1 month vacation thing for productivity in the long run imo.
I am glad to see ya back cos at least that means that the faction bug will be completely (instead of at least partially) fixed soon (tm) and while we await new features we can try earning more agent brownies :)
I havent used agents due to bug since you left :( I miss them for when I need to code and do some busy work or just for a break.
I like the idea of removing 'random' seeming referrals but not too sure on the faction system due to the bug that existed and the total change in sec and faction done earlier with ppl who didnt top em pre 'nerf' having a huge head start.
Perhaps based on minimum missions AND faction (where if u do the min missions you WILL havbe the required faction unless u were a bad boy otherwise than doing the missions ;P - this way ppl with inflated factions still have to do the work, and they get more 'bad-boy' buffer than a niew starting agent person.
Or wipe the factions since nothing was lost till now cos they didnt do anything above level -2.0
Of course not your area but if concord sec means anythhing later and the sec system is not adjusted it is a HUGELY unfair advantage to those who had hi sec b4 the nerf, I am guessing anyone new would take well over 1-2 years to hit 5.0...
