I am currently unable to play EVE, so I check on my skill progressions thru the Character Sheet. Currently, and for the last hour or more, it has been unavailable.
Normally, it is only down when the forums are down, and the forums are obviously working.
Any help forwarding this to appropiate people would be appreciated. My webfilter prevents me from getting to the EVE Support area of this website.

t20 has just contacted us to let us know that the CharacterSheet part of MyEVE has been taken offline.
We have been aware of a problem that ECM is creating and have been struggling to fix it, but the load of lots of new people downloading ECM had pushed the myeve Server to the limit.

ACK! This sucks for those of us that use it for it's intended purpose, without ECM. :( So much for logging in from work to see how many hours I have left to train something.
Hopefully they'll come up with a way of keeping it running.

It may of been mentioned in another thread, but has any thought gone into a soloution? be that XML export from client, time restricted character sheet access, upgrade of myeve server, put the character sheet on another server entirely, feed the icelandic hamster?... or am I missing the point and this is affecting the database servers?

The program in itself is a great resource, especialy for those who don't have lots of time to figure out what their skill training plan is. The future falcon team have been working hard with CCP to try and stop ECM from causing these problems, it is not the application that is at fault it is the people who click update every 5 minutes that cause the majority of the load.
By without intervention ECM will only download the character sheet after each time a skill finishes.
