Hi all
we are a mining/manufactoring corp that are now looking to progress furhter in the game.
What benefits does joining an alliance have. We have some really dedicated players in the Freelancer Association and we really want to move on now in the game.
Cheers

When bad ppl come you have to all group up and fight. If you don't want to do this, but still want good 0.0 access, look at buying a passport from either [5] or [BoB], they will let you mine and npc in their space but charge you taxes/fees for the privilage. But if you don't want to fight they don't make you.

Edited by: dmaul raven on 24/09/2005 14:20:43 Alliances will ask you for defense and pvp pilots when needed. You cannot sit in 0.0 raping their wealth and give nothing in return. If your corp doesnt have a pvp wing you wont be accepted in most alliances. You will also be encouraged to participate in large scale proyects (like dreadnought fleet building and maybe an Outpost). You can also spice it up if your corp can build ships and modules at reasonable prices for the whole alliances (can be a way to help the pvp effort without pvping yourself). When i talk about reasonable prices, im talking about tier 2 battleships for about 100 millions for example. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a must have is: the will to be part of the alliance. the will to work with and for the alliance the will to fight and die for your alliance if needed the will to share your wealth and knowlegde with your alliance
many alliances died, because their members ran in times of trouble.
if you only want to become rich, then go and buy a pass for mining and hunting.

One benefit is that big corps of high skilled idiots wont declare war on your corp just so they can boost their kill scores and have some entertaining fights without any threat of actually loosing.
As for what is required of you, well that depends on the alliance. If your a good mingn corp, you might simply negotiate a chunk of your minerals going to the alliance vaults for ship replacements and so forth. They might also get you to form a constrution wing too, for extrra ship construction. Your haulers could take time moving ammo and ships to the front line in their cargo holds. Logistics is a vital part of EVE and if you can supply that well then any alliance that is smart would welcome you with open arms even without a PVP wing of sorts.
