Depends...
Frig, inty, AF, cruiser, HAC, battlecruiser, or battleship PvP?
Also, stand-up fights or hit-and-run? -Wrayeth

It doesn't really matter which one you pick, both have good ships. But whatever you do, pick one and stick to it - rather be good at something than suck at everything.

What he said. I can fly three races' battleships and wish I had only trained for two - I'd already have large artillery specialization if I'd never bothered with Amarr. -Wrayeth

To be quite honest, pick something you like or something that looks good to you. If you sit here and read on the forums what people think of PvP ships and what not you will go crazy, I guarantee it _________________________________ God is always on the side with the best artillery. |

INDEED...I'm going crazy as I type. My friends all fly Ravens, and its hard to argue with their logic, veterans from the forum are telling me if they had it to do over they would do Gallente, and I like the Minmatar (but no one in the forums is giving them any love). Thank god I have time to choose: so many things to train in that are non-race specific. In the end though, itÆs probably just a matter of picking a race, knowing that race, and seeing it though.

Personally I prefer Amarr because they can take quite the beating, and lasers have a good damage output even if they are easily tanked.
Identify your target. Concentrate your fire on it to the exclusion of all else. When it is destroyed choose another target. That is the way to secure victory!

Amarr were one of my first choices, that's why I'm going crazy: everything looks good. I think the problem is I really want to fly Minmatar ships, but I know I will need mega skill points to fit the big ships right. So be it, I got time right? Like I said, thank god there are plenty of all around utility skills to train up now, I can put the real choices off, so long as I don't mind flying this frigate for the next few months. IÆll be one hell of a frigate pilot by then though. IÆm just trying not to waste points training skills IÆll never (or rarely) use at the moment.

Pick the race whose ships you like the look of and whose basic design philosophy you agree with. Hell, go with Minmatar. By the time you can fly them the balance-go-round will probably have propelled them to FOTM status

The longer you get into the game the more you can fly so in IMO other than having good maximum learning skills choose a race that gives you a good Avatar and then a race which gives you the best looking ships :P
Caldari and then fly Amarr, I mean, look at me, Im rather a stud muffin.
Im I right in the thinking a ships bonus is not actually based on Race ? I.e. I get Armour Resist increase in my Proph.
