Any ides on a good setup to use? Apart from the 6 Miner II's and drones I'm kinda lost.
Should use wcs and armor tank with caps in mids? Would be solo or low op cover mining. |

6x Modulated DeepCore Miner II's with crystals of choice
Mid
1x AB II
Some cap rechargers and whatever else you like (Think outside the box)
Low
1x Plate
1x Armor repper
Again outside the box is best... Think about what you would come up against and prepare to counter it.
I've just started to mine in a Dominix and had one Manticore pilot packup after not breaking my tank and running out of ammo, then I was begging a raptor pilot to come closer and put his money where his mouth is...
All the while mining away... there are enough slots to tackle, tank and let your drones do all the work... anything less than a tanked cruiser/HAC would give you grief before they try to warp out or before breaking your tank.. and even then if they manage to break your tank you should have enough measures in place to just warp out.
The main strike force of the Dominix is Drones... have drone skills up and unleash 15 drones on anyone that attacks you... Drone bay is good enough for 30 heavy drones but I recommend a combination of drone types and damage types.
happy mining... NPC's are not a problem at all, so don't even really factor them into your fitting requirements. wait for them to attack you and then pick them off with your drones one at a time... prefeably leaving the weakest one alive to chain from if your above 0.0 just wipe them out leaving the cans and see how you fair.
The only problem with the Dominix is the cargo bay.. so you might be kept pretty busy with shifting ore especially if your skills are up one of your miners will fill 70% of your cargo bay.. so 6 of them need to be staggered... :P
I pull more than a retriever with strip miners and with Drones I get as much a retriever with Mod Strip miners.. so its very safe and prosperous.
I don't like posting my actual setups because I see who is in system and setup differently everytime so that people don't get used to my stock standard setup.
Basically have a look at what you can fit and how it will fit.. then think about who will be attacking you and how they will do that, then figure out how with your skills your going to counter it or allow yourself to run away... there is no shame in warping out... Pirates hate it cause it robs them of their precious kill scores so they will try to smack talk you...

What the guy above me is trying to say is use NOS, ECM, webbers, and a mix of light and heavy drones (light for frigs, heavy for cruisers and up) to deter. Cut the aggressor's target range by half or more, force them to come within effective drone range, then rape. Anything that dares to come closer is something you should fear.
