I have some friends who are interested in the game but are wodering if it's really worth to start playing it now, when so many other people have played it some months now, and now have a big lead in skillpoints. And there is no chance of gaining in (at least I don't know of it). Therefore i propose that when you're logged in you should get a 5% faster training time, or something like that. SÕ that players that have recently started the game shouldn't be so behind, forever.
I think you should also be able to increase your Memory, Perception, Charisma and so on by doing respective thing. Let me give you some examples: If I shoot a lot, I mean use my guns or things that use the Perception attribute you should increase your points slowly, like the security status, but slower of course. And if you're mining you should increase your memory attribute, and so on.
Any other thoughts on this? And if you like it please make a reply to the post and say it so that the developers can se this and implement it!

This won't happen. Besides, what will stop me from getting insane perception by afk shooting at an asteroid with lasers? I could do that 24/7 without ever coming near the keyboard. --------------- I used to be in the FA. I like cookies. Eve Radio is teh pwn. |

humm.. the longer they think about wanting to play, but fear they have been left behind. the farther they get.
play the game. they will catch up. they even have an advantage over lots of those who have came before. they can simply ask around or post questions on these forums and figure out what to hold off on training and what to train first to give them an edge on players who have been in since day one.
life is not fair. neither is an advantage being given to those who came last.

And how many of those early players wasted time on worthless skills that new players can avoid? OR the fact noobie type gear is WAY cheaper now than it was a week or two after release. And honestly what's a 2 month lead? a couple L5 skills vice a couple L4? OMG the horror.
Life isn't fair and neither is Eve. Get over it. |

Don't some skills advance when you're using them already? I'm sure I read somewhere that the afterburner skill does it.
(Never checked thoough)

Skills advance really slowly as you use them
in the future, Implants will be available to boost stats as well as boosters. :)

Does it really matter tbh..i have been palyin for aqbout 2 months now an i dont think it is an issue most of the high level players are in low security secotrs so most empire systems are full of newbies. Why should they get an advantage over the rest of us who have been playing day in day out for the last few months.
Skillz also depend on where you want your character to be i have for example trianed for manufacturing and combat but if i wanted to svae time in training i could have just trained all my combat skillz.

Analyze that the more you advance the longer it takes you to better yourself, this helps people that are new catch up relatively quickly

This is a game where there is no high score or end of the road. Just like life, you are born into the world at a certain point. To that, you are blessed with the historical experiences of all those who came before you. As you develop, you will contribute to the history and your experience will then go to those who come after.
It is only at the end of your journey (when you quit) will you truly be able to judge how well you have done. So until such time comes, just enjoy the experience and donÆt concern yourself with how you rate to someone who may be near the end of their journey.
Eh, hmm.. Maybe that was a little too philosophical.
