i can only comment by adding a quote from one of my favourite historical persons +1 internetz if you know who
If God hadn't exsisted they would have invented him
pretty sure that some of our more conservative among us will claim that he was a fictious perona and in some fantasy novel written 250 years ago I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire |

Newton was wrong. (But correct enough at short distances and at low speeds.)
Every source I'm reading says that my statement is true. It's just at incredibly infinitesimal amounts. There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community.-á-á-á-á - Oscar Wilde |

A school should be about critical thinking and learning what is right and being able to understand and determine for yourself WHY it is right... Not "This is right. There's no proof and science, the platform of all advancement of our species to date, contradicts religious theory at every given opportunity with facts, but you know, don't question what we tell you, because it IS right." People shouldn't have religion introduced to them until they're adults and free to make up their own mind, of course that's never going to happen and it's logistically impossible no doubt, but can you imagine how few people would still be religious? I think it's beyond disgusting that it still affects politics and often times in a negative way. Kids have died because their parents chose to pray instead of seek medical attention, and the law in their state permitted it... It took two dead children before the government stepped in and deemed them unfit parents. One was too many, two is a tragedy.
That's the problem with true democratic freedom. People have a right to believe and do whatever they want, even in the fact of cold hard truth. It's almost a form of psychological denial in cases like this.

Voltaire gets too much credit and his opinion on jews is not quoted nearly as much as it should be.

I like Voltaire. "Candide was given the choice of being shot in the head or running the gauntlet and being beaten by the entire regiment. Being a believer in free will, he chose to run the gauntlet." (Paraphrase, not the exact quote)
But on the original topic, I sure wish I'd been around during those behemoth days. Could be really exciting, like this. Or like this. (Well, that one has nothing to do with behemoths. It's just a gratuitous Raquel Welch shot from the same movie). |

True but it wasn't different as just about every other european on judaism sadly that view/opinion had been there since the middleages and would continue till well into the 20 th century
and sadly is again on the rise again in some religious communities
if you want to believe , fine that is your choice and i wil respect you for that that , what i can not stand is that they are forcing their world views and morales onto others who havbe no other choice or still not able to make a choice for themselves and that is the saddest part of the original post of this thread I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it......
