I know there was a post about this a while back, but neither looking back 10 pages, nor using eve-search has turned up anything.
To the topic in hand though, the two spare high slots on a Raven. Since most sane people use a 6x launcher setup, I can think of only the following worthwhile mounts.
Smartbombs - for enemy drones Lasers - for enemy ships in general (why lasers? no ammo) NOS - for just being evil to other ships
Now, what do people do with those slots? PvP and PvE wise?
To set the ball rolling: PvE - normally 2x Small Beam Lasers to kill anything <20km, or. PvE - 1x Heavy NOS, 1x Small Beam Laser
23? # Missile Tool # ex: P-TMC : USAC |

Some people, are, you know, team players, and fit Remote Armor Repairers.
Its really not that hard to think first, and flame people afterwards.

didn't say that now, did she? besides, a proj ECCM is more useful in many ways
cloak is only really useful for safespotting IMO - in combat, decloaking only allows u to surprise freighters - anyone else can warp in the recalibration time. and just having it fitted borks lock time, so i wouldn't

Edited by: Elve Sorrow on 26/09/2005 17:55:21 I think he does use the Cloak to hide actually. Like, whenever hostiles jump in you got a ss pretty much anywhere, instantly.

I know I fit a prototype cloak for this very reason mostly. Just keep it offline, and online it whenever a blob enters your system, be it in 0.0, or because you are flagged. Having to warp between safespots every minute in a mega for 20 minutes tears you apart inside

Edited by: JoCool on 26/09/2005 18:01:39 I'd like to see the Raven lose a high slot and gain one medium slot :)

it borks lock time even when offline warping between 2 safespots works just as well. doesn't tear me apart inside

Quite frankly an additional 4-6 seconds lock time for npc rats is a good trade off for the security of a cloaking device.
And if I'm going PvP, well I almost have a sensor booster on anyways and I'm usually engaging other battleships. So the lock time penalty makes little difference to me.

IMO, remote armor reps are more valuable than projected ECCM. Especially if you are flying with teammate in cruisers, assualt frigs, interceptors, tackelers. Freeing up a low-slot for those guys makes a world of differnce...all at a small cost of a high-slot that would normally go unused.
And there's a few more good reason why to have a cloak...but I'm sure as hell not going to share it with you now since you laughed at me.
